When are YOU at your most excited?

Post by tikkathree »

Just a thought, which stage of the pre-delivery stage gets you going the most, sets your heart a-pounding, soaks up most of your thinking time and distracts you from the everyday things?

I'm assuming that the delivery and home (or workplace) unpacking reveal trumps all so the question really relates to the build-up and the various steps. I'm minded of a chocolate bar which was available in the UK during my childhood,

For me, it's placing the order after all the careful consideration,

Yes when I saw the topic "Hey, hang on...."
Placing the order is that moment you decide this one is for me and it's worth it. The 'steps 2-4' in any case don't work out Down Under and my work time window so I don't expect to experience them.

But also other things. I am for instance very keen to see what CW and Studio Underdog have planned for tomorrow, just in case they are related in some way ....

While the ordering process is a high point, I feel the most excited and even distracted when it’s out for delivery.

Placing the order is always exciting but comes with some trepidation - have I made the right choice? Did I pick the right strap? etc.

So I'm going for 'Out for Delivery'. As long as I don't get the disappointment of realising I'm not going to be in and having to get it re-delivered at a later date!

An on-line preview gets me thinking about whether I want one of these new releases and how I can justify it (to myself and to my better half).

The actual preview is the most exciting, followed closely by placing the order. Reason being that the preview is for something that hasn't yet been seen whereas placing an order will be for a product you're already aware of and have seen pictures. I find the idea of an "unknown" watch more exciting than a "known" watch.

There is a caveat to this too which is flipping the question round, when am I the most disappointed? Yep, that'll be during the preview too when all is revealed and it's not something I was expecting or am interested in buying.

One other option I would add to the above list is "When the CW sale email drops" as that would be up there with the preview for excitement. Why? Because of the unknown of which fabulous bargains you'll find. Again, followed up with a flip side caveat of when am I most disappointed; finding out that the sale page has crashed / not accessible / watch I wanted has already been snaffled.

LOL- my thoughts too. A wonder the censor machine didn't block this.

Who knows, maybe tomorrow will turn out to be an anti-climax? - oh no, careful, the censor machine will be on overdrive🤣

Well that wasn't the plan! I knew I'd be out in open countryside at 0800 on launch day but rationalised that either I'd place the order using t'phone or, if out of signal, later that same morning. Either way, "placing the order" wasn't going to be accompanied by a frisson of joy, not even half a frisson!

What I hadn't factored in was my phone choosing today of all days to self-drain its battery!! That curtailed all activity so back to the car, plug it in and with 12% of battery restored get the order placed. "Frisson of joy" wasn't even in the same county hahaha.

Naughty phone isn't charging up at the rate I'd have expected so by the end of tomorrow I think I'll know if I'm replacing the phone!

When I have the watch on my wrist. Either at the showroom, or a watch fair or once it's arrived. The feel of metal on wrist.... Sorry, nearly went to the wrong forum :D :D :D
