I have now reached the stage where I am able to browse forums, buy watches and watch TV. All at the same time.

It takes practice, but It is do-able.

Robins, welcome to the forum. :)
This is officially my LOL post of the day. Downer's right you know. It takes some doing and some dedication, but with a little fortitude, you too can be a watch-buying, forum-browsing tv viewer.

I bought my first CW around Christmas last year. Before that, I had gone more than 10 years without wearing a watch, and was certain that I would be a member of the smart phone generation that thinks that watches are so yesterday. Now, about 9 months later, I own 4 CWs with 2 more on order, not to mention 2 non-CW models.

Strap in. It'll be a wild ride.

If this be illness, then I am indeed up to my eyes in trouble! All I wanted was to find a nice little auto for my sons graduation gift. Now look at me! I don't think this is a sickness or addiction, but it does seem to resemble such things.
Anyway, welcome and be happy! At least until you see the next one that grabs your eye! :(

Nothing at all is happening to you. The same thing "happened" to me. It's all perfectly normal. One minute life is ticking by and the next you are struck with an OCD. Tell yourself that collecting watches is normal and rational . :D Enjoy!

Whats Happening to me?

Robins wrote:It all started about 3 weeks ago, it was my B'day and I was getting asked what would you like, usually it takes me ages to think of something or I end up with gift vouchers etc. I've always faniced a smart watch (I've had fashion watches but nothing 'proper') so I decided to get a decent watch and have some money put toward it.

Thats when it all started!, I've been a lurker on Pistonheads forum for quite a while but mainly in the readers rides section so thought I check out the watch section to see if I could find any recommendations. From here I also found the TZ-UK forum.

So after looking about I decided that the watch would be a Seiko Orange Monster which I purchased through Creationwatches (Awesome service btw) very nice it is as well. But it didn't stop there. I now can't stop looking through different watch forums. I can't justify or afford to spend big bucks on an Omega etc but I love finding topics with the affordable watches on, from this I found Christopher Ward and this forum :) I also requested the magazine which has some very nice pieces in.

I also love the What watch for £50 topic on pistonheads, as a result I ordered a Seiko 5 Military (Black dial, black nylon), which I plan to use as an everyday watch along with the monster, hopefully it will land next week. But I still wanted something a bit more special (but still affordable) Christopher Ward grabbed my attention and I started to really like the look of the Pilot style watches, the C8 Pilot looked awesome and I've found myself looking through so many different forums to find reviews, pics etc on it. Then I found the Steinhart Nav B-Uhr and really couldn't decide which I wanted (maybe both, lol)

Anyways last night I ordered the C8 Pilot MkII, Black dial brown leather strap, and can't wait to get it. I went for this over the Steinhart mainly due to it being a UK company, the awesome customer service I keep reading about and the five year warrenty

So Soon I will have.

Seiko Orange Monster (already arrived)
Seiko 5 Military
Christopher Ward C8 Pilot MkII

Its crazy!!, in three weeks I've gone from not really being too bothered about watches to having 3 of them!!

Whats it all about?...... ( I also fear that the C8 might not be my last watch purchase  )
What's it all about? Just a good start I'd say. Wait til you go beyond one watch box and have a collection of "spare" straps to suit your mood 

I have to admit to suffering from the same syndome, symptoms of which have only appeard since the beginning of July. I was given some cash for a birthday present, and spent it on two CWL's at the end of July. Since then I have pre-ordered two more CWL's and now I'm looking at Limes and Archimede watches. It can only be a matter of time before I join TZ-UK

It's all perfectly normal, and actually a fairly sensible way of splashing out cash. In years to come if high quality watches are bought sensibly they can still be worth near what you paid. So really you haven't spent any money - just locked it into something nicer to hold. Which is more than can be said for buying shoes, handbags and make up.....
(although I gave all that up years ago) :D
