Are you thinking Breguet for the hands?
Would dearly love to see something along these lines downstream

Re: What would you like to see?
i have read just that and also supporting theories as to why, but they are just that....theory and a poor one at that as the other numerals on a face are equally unbalanced. Its simple common mistake. It should not be there. Cartier made that mistake fashionable and filtered it into modern times. It's a bug bear of mine - Probably the most well known clock in the world, Big Ben''s face is correct and being balanced has no bearing.Kip wrote:This (IIII) is considered proper for watch dials. Re: What would you like to see?
You are of course correct about Big Ben. I'm afraid that the IIII on clocks was fashionable long before Cartier, however.
Other famous clocks with the IIII device include the Wells Cathedral clock of the late 14th Century, the Grande Horloge at Rouen and the clock at the Château de Versailles (and let's face it, you couldn't get more fashionable than Louis XIV...not XIIII, I concede).
I'm sitting about 2 feet from a clock that almost certainly predates the watch Cartier made for Santos-Dumont, and yes, it has IIII on the dial.
There is some evidence that iiii was used to some extent in manuscript (as was iiij) in the medieval period. It may be "incorrect" in terms of strict Roman usage, but it cannot really be called a mistake.

erm that post is not meant to be a kirt tone that it may be possibly read in. I could have worded better, but its late and I am unable to rewrite it nowSaffy wrote:i have read just that and also supporting theories as to why, but they are just that....theory and a poor one at that as the other numerals on a face are equally unbalanced. Re: What would you like to see?
That sounds brilliant. Especially if CW could produce a watch that could measurably compete on quality...Amor Vincit Omnia wrote:Yum! Now you're talking.Kip wrote:With an enamel single sunk dial and some fancy hands.

I would definitely like to see a Monaco esq watchmfurer wrote:I would love to see something similar to a tag heuer Monaco chronograph. I love the C70s that are race inspired, but also love the square face of the Monaco. Something like these:
I also would like to see a skeleton front watch. I like some of the zenith and frederique constant skeleton dials. Something like these:
And a affordable "proper" moon phase would be lovely.

Definately something along the lines of the Monaco. Automatic/leather strap.
C.W C20 Lido / C60 trident orange bezel. Tudor Pelagos. Tag Heuer Formula1 Chrono. G shock M.I.R orange
Re: What would you like to see?
If they did a Monaco stlyed watch i would be all over it!
I just love it, and even as some people say that TAG doesnt compare to Rolex, Omega and other bigger brands (when talking about the average of their watches), the Monaco is clearly one of my grail watches. The one with gulf colors of course.

I would like to see a smaller chrono, one I have admired is the stowa marine chrono which with the 7753 movement is 41mm in size and therefore perfect, but if cw made one it would be even more perfect!

Re: What would you like to see?
I have to admit that I am not a fan of many of the watches on sale at the Moment. Almost every manufacturer are producing big, thick watches with very complicated and, to my eyes, messy faces.
I'd like CW to produce a thin, elegant, simple looking watch available with an automatic movement, 38 mm diameter with a leather strap and stainless and/or rose cases.
Use the Patek Calatrava as the style guide - I'd buy one!

C5 Rose gold. 38mm automatic with a simple, timeless elegance.
Maybe too thick for you but it does seem to wear fine on the wrist.

I'd like to see a panda or tuxedo chronograph no larger than 40mm. Classicaly styled. And logo at 3.
