I really wouldn't worry too much about the minute hand length on the Explorer. I read a lot of criticism on reviews before I got mine, but living with it day to day I can honestly say it's a total non issue.
Thank you for the feedback. I too think it should be fine.
A short second hand is quite bothersome OTOH.

I want an Omega PO Orange on SS. 42mm I think.
I'll never be able to afford one sadly, but I'd sell all my collection (except the Tag for sentimental reasons) to get a mint condition one.

that sounds like a serious desire, you know if its meant to be, it will in my experience happen especially as your grail is not in the outrageous $100,000 dollar range. best of luck getting there.

Quick question about 'grail' watches...

Has anyone reached their grail and stopped?
As in actually held onto their grail watch.

Does achieving it not just hit the reset and the process starts again with another grail?

Just interested in peoples experiences :D

What was your first grail watch?

Early Breitling Cosmonaute (but not the really early one with black subdials)

Did you acquire that watch?

Why/why not? See above :)

What is your current grail watch? See above :)

How close to acquisition of your current grail are you? See above :)

Before I got this watches were just something I wore to tell the time. I liked watches, but was quite happy with a cheapish Seiko quartz, but I fell in love with a vintage Cosmonaute in the window of a tiny watch shop (which was closed for lunch) in London one day and through researching it, fell more so.

I've never been so smitten with any watch, although it's spurred an interest which has led to an eclectic collection.

Still my grail and, really, I can't see anything coming close.

I love a busy dial so I love that. The closest I have to it is two rip offs by Rotary though sadly haha!

I acquired my grail watch in 2007, still have it, don't envisage selling it, have bought many watches since, but none that I view as a "new grail".

Speedmaster followed by Seamaster long term. Short term realistic would be Grand Seiko and my first CW (C11 or C60).

Omega Planet Ocean Big, maybe attainable after my 3 daughters leave home - since the youngest is 5, I may have to wait a while! In the mean time, a lightly used Tag Heur Monaco, or a new C7 Rapide Chrono for my 40th next year....

My grail watch has been the Omega Constellation for quite a while:

I have not had the chance to buy this, but I did find a great Connie on eBay.co.uk.
That one does not have the pan pie dial though.

Nowadays, my grail woud be the timeless Patek:

Way too expensive for me though.

Image jlc gyrotourbillon 3 is my grail, I could look at and watch it all day long and never know the time, just stunning imo! Barring a bloody good day at the races I think it'll always be slightly out of reach ( insert a hearty sigh here)

When i got into watches i was taken by big tooly divers. A pelagos is the most refined version of this style of watch IMO and was my grail. Still would love to own one but dont have the same want as before.

Im now much more into smaller, simpler watches and, in particular plain pilot watches. I drooled over a stowa but it was out of my price range. luckily as of last week I finally got in a position to pull the trigger on one!

As we always have to have something to aspire to, my new grail is a Nomos Club Automat:

Il probably never own either the pelagos or club as there are just too many important things like housing, school etc to warrant spending 2k+ on a watch. Nice to dream though!
And I do own a grail, which is a nice feeling!
