Between the pilots and the chronos id go for C8 mk 2 (the vintage is looking most appealing these days)- but its 44mm although this may add variety to your collection (also my first CWL, well the mk1 anyways) and the C600 - but its pvd so depends if you like that although the tritium tubes are well worth trying if you haven't already.

At one time I would also have said the C20 ( dressy sports watch) with its 100m water resistance and better lume than the naff c8 its a good all round choice but the bracelet has been changed for the worse so its no longer an option imo.
I miss all the great things that may never be.

The C8 is an excellent first. It was mine, but you do need to be aware of the large crown making a little callous on your wrist! It is really quite a large crown.
