Following a delivery this morning, I can confirm that the answer to the question "what's your favourite Trident?" is "the one I'm wearing". :D :D :D

For me it's this one. It is an early mk1 (low serial #). Have had it on honeymoon and with my wife in Paris and New York. So sentimental attachment with happy memories.

I prefer the mark 1, probably black dial and bezel. I much prefer the round indices and the 4:30 date window. It just looks right to me. The mark 2 has less character IMHO.

Everyone seems to love it, but I agree with you! I think the bar indices are much more boring compared to the round ones. However, I do prefer the 3:00 date window.

Do the bar indices homage the C600? Under lume conditions they do.

Having now taken delivery of, and slept with, a mark 2 I have to say that the mark 1 nails it in the looks department.

I keep looking at the mk2 and wondering what it is which doesn't quite sing out to me. The bar indices are not as interesting but do seem to have better lume. The lume pip on the bezel feels under-sized and certainly in darkness appears a long way from the lumed aspects within the dial. One aspect related to the bar indices is that in some artificial light conditions there almost seems to be too much wavy black.
What do I think about the ceramic bezel? I recently tried a 38mm case white with red bezel which I returned finding the bezel colour not as deep, not as rich as I think I'd expected from the marketing and pr photos. I have a similar feel for this green bezel but we'll see what day light and office lighting conditions today bring to light.

I do like the much deeper etching on the case back.

I do find myself looking at the billiard-table flat crystal and wondering what a dome would bring to the design.

Date window at 3? Not bothered but would have liked white on black script.

The sweep second hand on both my mark 1s has a brightly painted tip. I miss that too.

Is it going back? Nosirreebub! I WILL come to terms with this watch.

UPDATE. In natural daylight this watch really comes to life. It really pops!

But my favourite Trident? It's still the mark 1 orange bezel.

you should be able to go back to the duplicate posts and delete them, (unless the BBoard version they're using here doesn't allow for deleting previous posts). At the very least, you should be able to edit them to pull out all the duplicate images.
