What's new for CW in 2022? The rumor mill post

Post by mvlow »

As we are only a few days away from 2022, it seems like a good time to ponder, speculate, ruminate, or just plain guess as to what new watches CW will offer in the new year. The latest Loupe magazine has an article that discusses upgrades/changes to the C65 range that may be ready by summer 2022. Give us your best guess, informed or uninformed, as to what CW will grace us with next year. Will they come out with any new designs early in Spring, or will we have to wait until the C65 upgrade for something new? Rumors, rumors of rumors, and guesses are all good :D

That kind of looks like a sapphire bezel on the drawing for the new C65…?

I recall a recent loupe article hinting at an hour chime watch (can’t remember the correct term) or minute repeater or something along those lines. I’m pretty excited for that!

Declan mentioned the new C65 and also that there would be more sapphire to look forward to. There’s a few things I’d like to see but I’ll stop there otherwise it’ll turn into a wish list post :)

Having seen a LOT of the prototypes, and managing to get a cheeky glance at the "ideas board" upstairs (im sure theres an official name for it!), im very excited about 2022......!
I was gutted beyond words I couldnt get my eyes to accept a certain case size in a certain watch...... :censored:

Ive no concrete info to share about upcoming releaees, but theres a lot of cool stuff kicking round CW towers at the mo...!

I was just wondering, since the Abyss SH21 appears to sell well and the Concept sold out in over four weeks, would an 'Abyss Concept' be probable?

I hope there will be larger case size offerings on whatever they release. Ie 42mm

I would guess that the 'hour chime' hint may be the top of a new dress watch collection. Since the general down sizing from the C9 case, there have been few simple dress watches from CW, and with the strength of the C60 and C65 ranges, there's room for a long term run of dress watches.

I agree. I can see gold and rose gold getting a look in as well

One would fervently hope so. I mean, they wouldn’t be so crass as to put it in some 42 mm Bronzilla monstrosity with a silly dial...would they?

The rumour that I would like to start is that CW will round off the Sealander collection with a chronograph....

I hope that they make something out of the Powerglow - those prototypes looked great.

Pure guesswork, but I think we might see a 36mm Sealander, along with more colour variants. Perhaps a lighter blue, for example, or an orange.

As other people have already commented, I think (and hope) that a dress watch is on the horizon too.

100% this. The Powerglow is a beautiful thing - I was under the impression that it was a no-go given they were selling the protos, but a Powerglow would be my choice for this year
