What's my partial delivery tomorrow by DHL? Now with photos

Post by tikkathree »

I'm still very much surprised to read that DHL are coming to see me tomorrow on a journey which began at Christopher Ward. So much surprised in fact that I immediately dived (I don't do "dove") into my CW account seeking corroboration and find that I'm expecting a partial delivery  What's the betting it's a rubber strap which I can't use until the other partial part arrives later in the year?

Anyone else?

Shall I sleep tonight?

When I ordered my watch (on bracelet) - which might be due in about 6 months, I did forget about the 3 for 2 straps (I only ordered 2 like an idiot). I emailed them and they mentioned that they'll add a third strap but it may come separately, before the watch.

So I'm assuming I'll be getting a similar email shortly :)

Mind you I can't view the orders or anything, possibly as I wasn't logged in when ordering, or maybe as I used PayPal Credit for checkout?

I'm in a different boat and waiting for straps to complete my previous partial delivery.

With the two Bel Canto Classics I bought there were delays on the Italian leather straps. So, in order to have the watches quicker, they shipped them out on brown vintage oak leather. The issue has been that, for me, those brown straps don't do the watches justice at all. So I haven't been wearing the Argento while I wait for the straps to arrive (I did already have a strap that would work with the Azzuro).

A nice thought by CW to try and get the watches out quicker, which I don't knock at all. But in my case I ultimately haven't been able to wear one of the watches any sooner, and will have to pay two sets of DHL charges as a result.

Why did you decide to get two bel cantos if I may ask? Colours?

@TRust - mostly colors. I'm a bit indecisive when it comes to choosing between two options, as I commented on here.

A bader clasp attached to a rubber strap. CW explained that an item in stock is despatched straight away which makes sense. I was surprised by how narrow it is.

21mm > 16mm isn't it?

Likely takes a bit of getting used to?

Narrower than a Twelve bracelet.

EDIT

It's a first world problem for sure. I bought the rubber strap at the time of buying the watch on bracelet for the standard reason of creating a choice even though, for me, any kind of rubber strap is usually "third choice" behind bracelet and leather.
How well does the colour of the rubber blend with the dial? I need but return to video content for that but I expect it to be fine. Maybe I'll try it around the house on my Twelve XTi later and tell myself in the meantime that it will be fine.

So here we go and guess what? Apart from the lug / strap angle which we know about the slender strap looks great. How long 'til October?
