What Is Your Favourite Part Of Your Watch?
What Is Your Favourite Part Of Your Watch?
This is by far the bit of my watch I love the most. The part I often stare at. The watch and strap just fit together so beautifully. I think the Bader strap is a triumph.
Anyway what’s your favourite part of your watch?

I note this is in the CW section of the forum, however the favourite part of the non CW watch that I’m wearing today is the case. In this case (pun intended) the trip tick one from Bremont.

Iain’s Law: Any discussion on the Christopher Ward forum, irrespective of the thread title or subject matter, will eventually lead to someone mentioning the Bel Canto if the thread continues for long enough.
Re: What Is Your Favourite Part Of Your Watch?
Very difficult question. It depends on the watch doesn't it? And even then it's never just one part. It's the sum of all the parts.

To name a few…
The “hidden” logo (“Secret Seven”) on the VII numeral of the Tank:

The little orange marks above the indices on the Sealander GMT:

The “lunar crater” subdials of the Speedy:

The Ulysse Nardin anchor “cabochon” on the San Marco GMT

ZIGGURATS!

For me, I primarily wear divers, and came to CW from Seiko and Orient. For me, it's the tactile bezel action that the Tridents and bumblebeast have. I use the dive timers frequently in daily life, so it's a very noticeable upgrade.

Re: What Is Your Favourite Part Of Your Watch?
It depends on the watch, but something that always appeals to me is the visual effect of a domed crystal. Those lensing effects can also augment dial details in an interesting manner.

Re: What Is Your Favourite Part Of Your Watch?
Like many it really depends on the watch.
My PO - I really love the open 6 and 9 on the dial.
Same with my Murph. I also love the handset on this one.
Super Compressor - I love the fact it is a true super compressor.

My C60 Ombré - has to be the dial.

Yes, I agree. A really nice 6 and 9. I like doomed glass too. Wonder if a can combine the two.

The acid etched texture of the Damascus steel case on my Schofield Obscura, along with the brass inserts for the drilled strap bar holes in the lugs.

That Baltic looks really good. Reminds me a lot of what Longines is doing in the Heritage collection.

The subtle embossing of the tides being raised by the moon on my favourite CW C9 Moonphase always makes me smile when it catches the light. (No photo as I don't seem to have the ability to upload pictures from my PC)

Re: What Is Your Favourite Part Of Your Watch?
It depends on the watch as I like different things about each one.
With the the blue marine it's the dial texture and of course, the SH21 movement. The Bremont Supermarine, a fantastic bracelet but it's the aluminium bezel and the way it reflects differently according to the conditions. My Caramel terra nova. Honestly, I find it hard to find anything I particularly dislike but the block Lume is outstanding in a great all rounder. Pat
