What do you want to see in '23?

Post by Noush »

So an Aussie has to do this because we get the New Year first :)

In no particular order what I would like to see in 2023 is these:

1. Something else that will blow the world's minds as a 'follow up" to the Bel Canto. Tough gig and maybe too soon with so many BCs to be built this year, but gosh it would say something about the brand. Late in the year is fine...
2. Integrated bracelet sports watch. Yes it's been done, but not with the design and value that CW can bring to the table.
3. A proper (slim) dress watch. They're coming back, they're in CW's founding DNA and not in the current catalogue. Moonglow lovely but thin it aint.

What would YOU like to see?

These two I hope are CWs aim for the teased SH21.2. But I wouldn’t be too disappointed if CW did them with Sellita offerings as well, due to the lower price. But if CW wants to continue to elevate the brand then the in-house movement would be the way to go.

100%. If SH21.2 allows for smaller/slimmer watches then I would be all for that! And would pay for it if the option was presented.

Totally agree with all of the comments regarding integrated bracelets and a choice of movements.

What I truly WANT is for the C60 MK4 to come out and I hope for a chrono/diver BEAST version to go alongside my MK2 Beast and MK3 BumbleBeast.
Collection:

C60 MK2 Beast 7750 Chronograph
C60 MK2 Polar Beast COSC LE White 1 of 300
C60 MK3 BumbleBeast Chronograph
C63 Sealander “Creamlander” 1 of 1 prototype

+ various other brands.

I would like to see something I haven’t even thought of, but because I haven’t even thought of it, I don’t know what it is. Surprise me.

Surprise, surprise...

As a follow on from the Bel Canto I'd like to see a similarly engineered C1 wandering hour.

Given what they have pulled out of the bag recently with the BC and the C60 concept this could be a winner, the C5 Malvern is still a great watch so they have the heritage in that area.

I would like to see a ladies range return, the C63 could be a starting point (the 36mm is a few mm too big IMHO) and IF they went back into the dress watch market would make a little more sense.
Oris, CW, Tag and a few others.

Hmmm… I’m a noob, but it seems to me that there is a gap in the CW stable when it comes to rugged ‘tactical’ quartz field watches like the Holton… personally, I’d snap something like that up as a daily beatstick of a watch.

I do think a snappy & smaller dress watch is on the cards though, and I reckon it’ll be a thing of beauty!

An integrated bracelet sports watch of say 39mm, with the next version SH21 would do nicely, thank you.

Everyone else produces one, so why not CW.

When other brands try to produce one, as their version of the Genta originals, I invariably think “that isn’t a xxx (insert Genta original of choice)”.

However I think that if CW produce one I will just probably think “I like that, I will buy one for what it is”. :)

I have always felt the military collection lacked a chrono. Something thinner than the current diver chronos and hand wound.

I am interested to see the C60 MK4. It will be interesting to see where they take this one.

Other than that I am more than content to just sit back and see what comes. The watch budget is starting the year on the low side with the late purchase of the new LE. It has given me an opportunity to start the year on a more chill footing.

I’m on the lookout for an orange diver so I’d like to see an orange 38mm C60 trident.

I'm still looking forward to that aquatiane inspired watch without a timing bezel - the tudor black bay 36 competitor... It was teased in the Loupe magazine a couple issues ago. Also looking for some slim watches. I had a nomos club for a bit that was the most comfortable watch I've ever worn and less than 9mm thick.

This has come up a couple of times and spurred me to go look at the article again. Other than the round marker plots the drawing looks like the bronze Sandhurst MKII to me. But you never know!

I think the Sealander 36 is probably a more direct competitor to the BB.
