What can be done with the SH movement?
Re: What can be done with the SH movement?
Having seen the SH21 in bits and watched it being assembled by hand it's a suberb movement and without doubt the platform on which CWL will develop their next generation of watches. As for what comes next JJ has hinted that he is working on a chronograph. I'm guessing that will be £2K plus.

I really wish CW would hurry devolving a new dress-diver with the SH21 movement, Trident MKII or otherwise. I am currently looking at an Oris Aquis (which uses an adjusted SW200-1) but can't help imagine CW would really have my attention if they would release a Ceramic/Sapphire-bezeled diver with this new movement. Good things come to those who wait, I guess.

Yep I misunderstood the tractor comparison, I get it now. It will be interesting to see how quickly things progress.ianblyth wrote:No such thing as perfection. It is a myth. It is just a mechanical movement. I think JJ describes it as a tractor as he wanted a movement base that was robust and strong but versatile. You can put different tools on the back of a tractor to transform it and it still has the power to pull them along.magicman wrote:Being described as a tractor of a movement, I presume it would be perfect.

A true world time with a chronograph and a date for me. Much like the ball world time chronograph train master. I have to say i'm still disappointed that the SH21 is already in another brands watch. The price would have to be well under the ball version for me to consider it.

You really shouldn't be surprise as SH and JJ produced for many years for Meistersinger also. The jump hour and mono pusher movements were also used at a higher price point.Lewis wrote:A true world time with a chronograph and a date for me. I hear you but I just really liked the idea of Christopher Ward finding its own identity and I thought the SH21 was that door opening. I thought cwl was truly starting to set itself apart with its own DNA. But the one exclusively cwl feature didn't stay exclusive long. However I like that the SH21 means a large future for cwl. Bring me the watch I would like above with cwl exclusive design and i'm happy with the sh movement in thatddav wrote:You really shouldn't be surprise as SH and JJ produced for many years for Meistersinger also.
