WatchGecko and CW collab?

Post by Didier.O »

Just got an email about this, then saw it on their website. Any idea what it could be, or what you'd like it to be?

Whatever it is, it looks like a bunch of cross branded straps will be available.

A more illustrative photo from Watchgecko's Facebook page.

The fittings are decidedly NATO strap style.

Rope tied around a metal deck cleat on a wooden deck (floor). Maybe a CW + Watch Gecko "Yacht-Master?"

While I’m not feeling NATO straps for me, they do look good on others. Interesting to see what the pairing will yield.

I can't see the point of this at all :problem:
Cw have their tide straps. Why get involved with third party nato strsps and likewise what the point from watchgeko point of view?
Cheers now, Paul

It looks to me like the watch in the background of the image posted by Guy might be the point of it. The straps are just part of the offering I am guessing which makes sense since WatchGecko was founded as a strap company primarily.

^^^^ I'm thinking it's a relatively inexpensive way for CW to be able to offer a range of 'branded' NATOs without going through the investment of the straps; as it's only the buckles they are investing in (the straps look to be current offerings from Watchgecko's range).

Note that the buckle’s finish is different, implying the watch case finish appears blasted.

My two most loved and enjoyed watches are collaborations. The Oris x Chronos diver and the CW x Worn and Wound C65 sandstorm. I feel that collaborations like this must be a little kick of electricity into the work of a watch company. They can’t be easy - I’m sure they get very frustrating! But the outcome can sometimes be greater than the sum of the parts.

My vision must be worse than I thought. I've studied this image very carefully and don't see a C65 anywhere.

^^ initially I felt same as you Chris, however you can see the edge of a C65 bezel in an earlier pic from Guy in this thread. Well spotted by @rkovars for sure
