Everything's relative - I suspect Fatima Whitbread's wrists could take a 46mm case quite well...

Actually, now I see you're from the USA, I'd better point out that she was a British javelin thrower of, errrrm, significantly powerful build!

Good point about shape of wrist. Think mine is flat and bony (and puny!) Don't think C9 FLE looks too bad on it though.

Still can't upload photo so you'll have to take my word. :D

I have a 42mm C60GMT on an SS bracelet and as with others I find that the curve of the case and lugs means that it follows the contours of my wrist pretty well so I'm very happy with it. I do have issues with the bracelet which doesn't have the fine adjustment I need to get a really good fit. Tried to attach a photo but got message saying "Sorry, the board attachment quota has been reached."

It was with some trepidation that I ordered the 43mm C9 2011 FLE on a leather strap. Despite only being 1mm larger the difference is noticeable. The case is thinner than the C60 but the curvature doesn't seem to be quiet so pronounced. As a result it looks much bigger on my wrist. To be honest I think it's slightly too big for me although others have said not. Again my issue is with the strap which I can't seem to get into a comfortable position around the bony protrusion on my wrist. Having said that I absolutely love the watch and will experiment with different straps until I find one that works. I've tried a Hirsch Grand Duke and may save my pennies and get a Toshi.

Follow the how to post pictures thread there is this 1 HOW TO POST PICTURES

Or this 1 How TO POST PICTURES

1 is easier than the other but 1 has pictures 1 does not 1 is a easy follow 1 is a bit harder hope it helps and hope to see some pic's soon
Paul,

You are just going to have to fatten up there Son. I always had skinny wrists too. With age though, my wrists got fatter and now I can pretty much wear just about any clock. So start gulping down the grub and let yourself grow into the watch.

Aha!!! Thanks for instructions Jag - finally figured out the image thingy!

So here is bony, puny wrist with 42mm C60GMT attached:

Image

And here is same wrist with 43mm C9 FLE, on Hirsch Grand Duke, attached.

Go on then - I know the C9 is too big. But I don't care!!

Alas beefing up in the gym seems to make little difference to my wrist size, and more pies is not an option due to my other predilection for cycling! As for enhanced size with age, alas at 54 it hasn't worked so far. Anywhere.

The dimensions are 75 x 75. It looks like those are thumbnails rather than the original pictures.

From Flickr

The HTML code to embed a photo in a web page that you used to find on the All Sizes page is now only in the Share menu above the photo, to the right of the Actions menu. We now also include BBCode! (standard message board code)

There are a few cases where the code may not be available: 1) If the photo is restricted. 2) If that person has turned off "Share this" or access to original files.

The direct link to a photo file is no longer shown on the page. Per the Flickr Community Guidelines "pages on other websites that display content hosted on flickr.com must provide a link from each photo or video back to its page on Flickr." Linking directly to the photo file doesn't do this.

That is why most people use PhotoBucket! It is much simpler.

I also find that the trend at the moment is for larger watches, but ontalking to a watch maker friend.Basicly most interal mech's of a watch are a reasonalble Dia and he reaconds a lot of the bigger dia watches unless have a lot of extras is just filled out with plastic or a larger lump of casing:) to make the Dia.Also i have noticed that if one looks at older generation watches most Dia (external ) measurements are less. But that is just my opinion and my Friend.

I'm curious if anyone here has taken apart some larger watches with std ETA movements. If the movement is small, and I'm guessing cases aren't that much thicker since that would cause big watches to weigh a ton, what else is indised- holding movement in place? I'm guessing lots of plastic filler... Also, would there be addl stress on winding stem if the distance between the crown and movement is increased?

Here's an example. This is a 2836-2 (basically a 2824 with day/date), inside a 40mm Damasko case. The movement is surrounded by a holder, which is often made of plastic. In this watch it is made of steel.

The winding stem passes through the holder, which prevents too much stress/bend on the stem.

Jeez, this is so complicated. So here we are in glorious technicolor. Two watches on skinny wrist at last. Only 1mm difference in size between them but one looks like a wall clock and the other.....doesn't :problem:

I've got skinny wrists, and by the look of your C9 FLE photo I'm glad I didn't go for one in the end!!

The Trident looks a good size/fit though!!

That's a very interesting comparison - you've just got to try them on to be sure.
