Watch Idea - 41mm Sealander with a subtle moon phase

Post by BrandonT »

I cannot over emphasize just how much I love my 39mm white Sealander. I have twenty some odd watches and that is the one I am constantly grabbing. More than anything else. It is a strap monster which I love. I have a 7.9 inch wrist and for some reason, it just works where other watches under 40mm don't. Because of the love I have for this watch, it got me thinking.

What if CW made a slightly larger Sealander, say a 41mm, and included a small moonphase on it. Something similar to the Longines Flagship Heritage Moonphase. I would buy that in a heartbeat. While I love the look of the C1 Moonglow that CW is offering, it is just a little over the top for me. It screams moonphase. Would love something more elegant and subtle for a moonphase.

What do you guys think? Think they will ever come out with a 41mm regular Sealander? That would be nice too.

Watch Idea - 41mm Sealander with a subtle moon phase

The new Moonphase watch is due end of October. Supposedly they’re taking a “less-is-more” approach so it may have the simplicity you’re looking for.

Although they did mention some abstractness to it, so it’s probably not going to look like a Sealander with a Moonphase

I wouldn’t be surprised given the amount of new iterations released recently.

I didnt hear about this new moonphase coming out in October. Im intrigued to say the least!

Think they may come out with a larger regular automatic sealander? I'd kill for a 41mm.

They recently did a 41mm Sealander LE, with their SH21 movement (and a great small seconds + power reserve indicator) - lovely looking watches.

I believe they're working on their SH21 v2 movement, so entirely possible that'll have a few more complication options.

I'm totally with you though @BrandonT, I think a Sealander with a moonphase would be lovely, would be nice if they gave the complication a modern look/twist to match the quite modern stylings of the current C63s

The C1 Moonphase and Moonglow (pic below) were/are 40.5mm. Is that close enough, in size and style?

Then there's the new Moonphase due end October. :-k :-k

@Bahnstormer_vRS while it’s a lovely watch and one of the best moon phases in it’s price bracket, it’s a bit of a stretch to describe it as being subtle.

I agree with Olly W, its a beautiful watch, but it isn't subtle and slightly space dorky. CW please provide classy Sealander moonphase, it would make my year!

I wonder how close to reality this “what if” wish post will be? We will know soon enough.

I think that the Sealander is perfect as a 39mm. Some may enjoy a 41mm but I’d leave it as it is. However if a moonphase was introduced in the Sealander a larger dial would probably be necessary.
