I had no updates from US Customs, DHL, or CW before the delivery. The next day had to send the watch back to CW for a repair, crown was bound up and almost impossible to wind.
Quick update: The Ice Cream Twelve has melted. After being held up in US Customs for several day, I received the watch which was a present for my wife. Had to send back to CW for repair, trouble with crown. Watch accepted for repair and received the following, "Our completion lead times, unless told otherwise is up to 10-weeks."

Should I have just returned the watch and order a new one? It would seem that CW should have expedited for new watch repairs.

I doubt it.

CW has invested heavily in their service and repair setup at CW Towers in Maidenhead, UK in recent years.

Very little, if anything, goes back to Biel these days.

I would expect that the only thing that would go back to Switzerland would be something that the engineers would want to look at (we call it a capture). It happens but I don't think so in this case.
