You guys crack me up!

As for storage: I have 6 automatic watches that I wear in rotation. I wind them every other week. I can't give you a good reason for this, I just do it. If I'm not going to be wearing a watch for a long time, I don't worry about it since most of my watches are hearty buggers anyways. Used to use a watch winder but I don't anymore - they're rough on some movements and not effective enough on others - their use is probably redundant too.

In addition I have numerous hand-wind mechanical watches (some quite old) and they seem to like to be wound on a regular basis - mine run better (more accurately) when they are worn. So the mechanicals get a winding once per week, regardless of how often they are worn. I pull the crown on the few quartz pieces I have to save battery life if they're stored for any extended period of time.

Be careful what you say about watchwinders....I just got Russ calmed down after the quartz/mechanical thing. :)

Don’t worry Kip,

I’ve developed a whole new attitude when it comes to these things, and thanks, must be the new meds you’ve been giving out.
