I hope you'll forgive me for finding joy that someone else is limited by their eyesight as it relates to this hobby. My wife got up before 5:00am EST to go for a run so obviously I went to check the clearance page and found these:
- C65 Dartmouth Series 1 - Nearly New
- C60 Chronograph - Nearly New
I love a good chrono as much as the next person but unfortunately my 50+ year old eyes cannot read the dial even with my reading glasses. And no, a new RX is not the issue. The text on all chronos is just too darn small for me so I purchased the Dartmouth Series 1 COSC - NN.

It really is a drag getting old. Is it me or are the date windows/wheels on watches getting smaller?morgbug wrote: ↑Thu Feb 20, 2025 7:19 pmI hope you'll forgive me for finding joy that someone else is limited by their eyesight as it relates to this hobby. I am surprised this one is still available because I thought it was a very popular model:

What's not to love about it? Cool looking sapphire dial, new style twin flags logo, 600 meter water resistance Diver, GMT, comes on the bracelet, and as a NN you pay 20% less than when it was new. And it is still for sale which makes no sense to me.
If I did not already own a Trident Pro 300 white dial, have a Dartmouth Series 1 black dial NN on the way, and recently purchased a Rolex Explorer II Polar I would have bought this already.

The screws on the dial?

Re: Unannounced Clearance sale?
A fair point, that is raised from time to time, but what really is wrong with them?

They're symmetrically placed, black against white (nice contrast) and when looking at the watch when being worn you don't really notice them.
They're there, but not what you are looking at, so you don't see them; at least I don't.

Re: Unannounced Clearance sale?
^^^ Eye of the beholder, Guy.
It’s often the case that some very small detail is a thing that one person will find attractive or at worst not notice, whilst for somebody else it’s a complete no-no.
For me, I can’t say that the screws add a great deal to the aesthetic, but the real horror for me is seeing that date wheel through the dial. I don’t mind looking at a nicely decorated movement through the back of the watch, but having the guts intrude through a sapphire dial or, worse, no dial at all…no thanks.

Eye of the beholder, true: I like the front view of the movement visible through the dial.

Until you mention it, I'd forgotten about being able to see the date ring through the Sapphire dial. However, as the dial is opaque it's quite a nice feature.
Each to their own.

Absolutely. I’m told there are actually people out there who don’t like cabochons and Roman numerals.

Takes all sorts.

Re: Unannounced Clearance sale?
I was tempted by the Anthropocene last night and added it to my basket, thinking I might sleep on the decision overnight and buy this morning if I felt like it. I’d seen the milky date wheel but not the screws. Now I’ve seen them I can’t unsee them and they’re definitely not for me.

Re: Unannounced Clearance sale?
Trident Pro 300 38mm Drivers seem to be languishing in the sale section. The same thing happened in the July sale.
I wonder how many get purchased and returned because they are "too small".
Could this be the end of the 38mm CW Diver?

Re: Unannounced Clearance sale?
With the official launch of the 38mm Twelve, are we predicting the demise of the 36mm Twelve and the 38mm TP300?
Though the AD copy from the launch appears that they are promoting the twelve in all three sizes: 36mm, 38mm, 40mm.
