These things happen.

In the past I've had the odd pair of watches but currently just have a trio of C11s

It is odd but anyone having more than 2-3 watches are equally odd.

Personally I have 2 sets of duos, different in case materials or dial colors/designs. I do consider myself to be very odd too. :)

I must admit that I do find it a little odd having variations on a theme.sold my steinhart military to get a damasko da36. I sold my red 12 fle so I could fund my nomos red 12. Likewise I sold my c2fle to fund my AT. I have 4 omegas now but they are all VERY different to each other. Also I don't have the opportunity to wear them that much so feel I'd neglect them if a collection got too big.

i opt for one watch, many straps

(since this write-up i have bought many more and varied straps, one russian watch with penguins and a map of antarctica on the dial, and i have an incoming phoenix - so definitely no repetition there!) :)

Edit : i've been around here long enough to really not find anything odd any more...... :?
watching you fail in your quest for a “one watch” has been great entertainment

Going crazy with different variants of the same watch probably accelerates the boredom threshold with watch collecting.
It is noticeable on here that such collectors build up to a crescendo and then we never hear from them again. My advice is to buy fewer and better and make every purchase the result of long and careful consideration.

Funny you should mention hitting the crescendo as I'm almost there. And I agree about the careful consideration which is why I chose the black/white first. In the back of my mind the red or green was screaming at me and was really one of my first choices. In the end I decided on the black/white which was the right choice but would like to close the door by picking up the red and completing the duo. And I almost came close to swapping the red for green but the more pictures I see and reviews I read the red was the right second choice. Crazy hobby we are in and all of us are odd in some way because not everyone shares the passion we do!

It all depends....

on whether you perceive "ODD" as being prefereable to "NORMAL".

There are myriad permutations of this oddly normal behaviour:

same watch
same make
same dial
same calibre
same strap

this list probably goes on and on.

Fine upstanding behaviour which touches on your ability to discern style/quality/something else.

Now get on with it!

I've several doubles, or triples, in the collection. An example below:

I'm fighting hard not to buy C60 number 4 so I would say that you are perfectly normal.
