We enjoyed fantastic weather all week. Although obviously short of the fierce summer heat, it was very warm (mid 20s) and the constant blue sky made for great sightseeing and pictures. Being titanium and therefore very light, the watch was easy to wear. I didn’t go in the sea or the outdoor pool, and when I went to the indoor pool I locked the watch away because there was also a sauna and a steam room.
I reckoned it was gaining close on 3s/d, so when I set it to CET, I left it 10 seconds slow. It gained 22 seconds over the week. The fact that it is not a GMT really doesn’t matter - the time difference is only one hour anyway. So, a few pics…
A very interesting day-date (Italian) on the cathedral clock in Valletta. I did, however, notice a number of other big church clocks, including Mosta and Mdina, which were clearly stopped at random times!

I didn’t get to Gozo, but spent 3 days exploring Valletta and Birgu. At the National War Museum in Valletta I discovered that my dad’s ship was torpedoed on the SS Ohio convoy (Operation Pedestal) in August 1942…an emotional moment! I also spent hours in Fort St Angelo on Birgu (my favourite place) and got to understand the scale and geography of the Great Siege of 1565 - a subject I’m very interested in.
Oh, and I found out that, as of last year, you can begin the Camino de Santiago in Malta (Camino Maltés) and reach Spain via Sicily and Sardinia.
Anyway, great holiday and the watch was a perfect choice. It even found some rather fine marine hardware to pose with (not hard in Valletta!
