The watch needs to go back anyway for the case defect to be remedied, which means a replacement case. Given the amplitude measurement, I suspect it needs more than regulation. To be honest, I would prefer a replacement, and given the labour cost of a full service in a service department with a large workload, I would think this option preferable to CW too!Bahnstormer_vRS wrote: ↑Sun Aug 27, 2023 12:36 amIt is worth remembering that the COSC certification is carried out on the movement before being fitted into a watch.Chris GB wrote: I'll ask them to re regulate and certificate when it is re cased. Probably cheaper and easier for CW to just replace it!
If CW are to regulate your watch for you, which they are perfectly capable of doing, they will not be in a position to get it recertified.
Ultimately, if you are not happy with it, raise a Repair Request via CW's website and get it checked out.

Re: Twelve Ti frustration
^^^^ Thanks for the reminder that this is an ongoing issue, Chris, which I'd forgotten about when I posted last night.
I guess the simple thing to do is make your further representation to CW and get the watch back to them, to give them the opportunity to resolve the issue one way or another.

Re: Twelve Ti frustration
I'm sure they'll sort it for me, it's just frustrating. It is a cracking watch though, so worth some perseverance.Bahnstormer_vRS wrote: ↑Sun Aug 27, 2023 8:18 am ^^^^ Thanks for the reminder that this is an ongoing issue, Chris, which I'd forgotten about when I posted last night.

Re: Twelve Ti frustration
Just to update on this. Magnetism wasn't the issue. The accuracy issue seemed to slightly self resolve, and after a particularly hot day, the watch would run within COSC tolerance, but only if kept fully wound. The amplitude was low and sometimes did odd things, sometimes dropping to around 170° when the second hand was between 12 and 3. Given the intermittency and randomness, I suspect dodgy lubrication.
CW hadn't kept inventory of parts available for repair, so they've provided a full refund and I've ordered a replacement. Hope to see it at the end of December.

Given that they knew it was going to be coming in, I found it very disappointing.FloridaPhil wrote: ↑Thu Nov 23, 2023 3:47 pm "CW hadn't kept inventory of parts available for repair".
