Trident pro 300 sizes

Post by Chiefs33 »

I’m interested in getting a trident pro 300 but I’m stuck between getting the 38 or the 40 mm. I have both of those watch sizes from different brands in my collection already and I like them both but purchasing this trident is going to be the watch I wear for quite some time so I would like to get it right. I will post some wrist shots of the watches mentioned for size reference. I will also include my father’s 42mm trident pro as a reference for an idea of how the light catcher fits. My wrist size is about 6 7/8.

That 42mm Trident looks fine to me but it's your wrist and this is about comfort which only you can judge :)

The obvious answer if the credit card allows is to buy both to try on and send one back?

You will be fine with either the 38 or 40 I think. With your wrist size I would say just buy the 40 if you don't want the hassle of buying both and returning.

Even the 42 you have looks fine and a watch always looks bigger in a static shot. Also a white dial will always appear bigger than a black dial for example.

Good luck and I hope you enjoy your new watch whichever you may decide upon .

The 40mm would be my suggestion. My wrist is similar to yours (mine is 7"), and my 40mm Trident 300 fits perfectly.

I think if you got a hold of the 40 you'd be really happy with it.

I'm on board with the 40 as well. The 42 looks good and the newer 300 in 40mm will wear similar just a tad smaller.

You can't go wrong, those all look fine on you. The 38mm Trident might even wear a little smaller than your 38mm Islander, since it's a little thinner. It's all down to your personal preference.

If you think your dad's 42mm is a trifle big, then I'm sure either the 40mm or 38mm would be great. They all look good on the photos you posted.

My wrist is 7 1/4 inches and with the C60 600 I prefer the 40mm size because of the thicker profile the watch has. I lean toward smaller watches though I will wear 34-45mm diameter. I think with the 300 you’ll likely be well served by the 40. It all comes down to what is comfortable for you.

40mm is the safe size, but 38mm looks good too.

I’m going through the same struggle😂 I think I’ve settled on the 42mm 300, I’ve already got a CW supercompressor that wears small for 41, so I’ll get a little more size coverage in my CW collection

I ordered a 38mm for my 6.5" wrist but my preference is for smaller watches overall. I have to wait until Feb'23 but I assume you wouldn't wait that long to make a choice hahaha.

If you look up SoCalWatch Reviews on yt, he mentions a similar conundrum where he first purchased the 38mm but then switched to 40mm based on the dial size appearing a bit too small on the 38mm. The 40mm had a dial size of 30.9mm.
My wife thinks I have a watch problem. I'm a glass half-full guy, I think of it as a healthy interest in horology ;)

I'd echo that. 7" wrist also - I have the 38 Mk2 and it's a bit small, although I soon get used to it. The 40 wasn't in the range when I bought mine. I have a 40mm Scurfa and for me, the size is perfect.
I started out with nothing and I still have most of it left
