The entire watch is quartz. It vibrates your wrist 32,768 times per second. Incredible technological achievement.

Re: Trident Pro 300 Preview
Thanks to Mike France and the forum team for organizing this preview. I actually attended the CWE event that followed immediately after the forum event. I assume it was essentially the same. I will save any thoughts on the Trident 300 until Thursday, but I will say that I was chuffed to hear Mike thank the forum for their input on this new model. There is no question that the team at CW Towers listened to all the feedback the asylum provided when designing this one.

Bearing in mind the first 300 was quartz, that's a relevant question and was my initial thought.golfjunky wrote:Is it going to be quartz?

Re: Trident Pro 300 Preview
Unfortunately I couldn't make the preview.
One question please to those that were able to be there: Without giving too much away, should I be excited about tomorrow?

I thought there were lots of things to be happy about. Your mileage may vary.

I’m not excited to save up more money to buy one, no. But I’m going to because I’m excited to own one.golfjunky wrote: ↑Wed Aug 24, 2022 8:16 amHappy but not excited........very tellingNationOfLaws wrote: ↑Wed Aug 24, 2022 8:13 amI thought there were lots of things to be happy about. Bearing in mind we have been told multiple times, from around summer 2019 (CW Event/GTG in August), that CW are done with quartz for new models.

I asked because a friend thought that it would be, i did respond to him saying i highly doubted it. I have not followed this thread too closely so thought i would try and clarify for him.Bahnstormer_vRS wrote: ↑Wed Aug 24, 2022 10:16 amWhat do you think?golfjunky wrote:Is it going to be quartz?

I look forward to a slimmed down (hopefully manual) 300. it will make a great desk diver. The Trident has been their best seller for ages but im glad the ever growing ground swell of opinion that it was a bit chunky has finally been heard.

Re: Trident Pro 300 Preview
Of course the C60 Trident had 'grown' with the upgrade, in the Mk2 variant, from 300m WR to 600M WR making it a Planet Ocean rather than an SMP; in response to the groundswell of opinion at the time.
This 600m WR has continued on in the Mk3 although the trimming to 42mm (from 43mm) and adoption of the Lightcatcher™ case has slimmed down the visual appearance greatly.
That CW are now in a position to reintroduce a, presumably slimmer, 300m WR Trident is clearly great news.

Re: Trident Pro 300 Preview
I do not think anyone was saying that 300 was not enough, this was done by CW to try and compete with proper players. My remark with regards to chunky was about height not width.Bahnstormer_vRS wrote: ↑Wed Aug 24, 2022 11:14 amOf course the C60 Trident had 'grown' with the upgrade, in the Mk2 variant, from 300m WR to 600M WR making it a Planet Ocean rather than an SMP; in response to the groundswell of opinion at the time.

Re: Trident Pro 300 Preview
^^^^ Agreed; chunky = height. That's how I was reading is.
I merely mentioned 43mm vs 42mm to keep the discussion accurate.

$64,000 question; If the Trident Pro 300 is what you hope it is. Will you be buying one?

Re: Trident Pro 300 Preview
So if it is similar to the below but with flag'y logo thing and no waves i do not think i'd be tempted. it offers nothing different to my Sealander.

Re: Trident Pro 300 Preview
Good point. This is what is holding me back with the C60 line up. It mostly feels like a C63 with a bezel for me. To much of a crossover. I now own a C63 and a C65 and would love a C60 to complete the set. I hope the 300 offers something different, but i am not expecting it will.

Re: Trident Pro 300 Preview
For me, it’s dependant on colours and hand legibility.
I currently have 6 CWs.
Beast
BumbleBeast
42mm C60s (red/black and blue/blue GMT)
40mm C60 (black/blue)
C63 Sealander GMT (black)
So the new one has to fit comfortably within that bunch.
All have great legibility, so I don’t want any white dials with silver hands as some of the older C60s.
Basically, I'm for anything that gets you through the night. Be it prayer, tranquilizers or a bottle of Jack Daniels, Frank Sinatra
