T3 is only three years old. For many watch companies that’s not long. It’s not ready for the Parker-Knoll and Werthers quite yet.Bahnstormer_vRS wrote: ↑Wed Aug 24, 2022 7:26 pm ^^^^ Let's all remember this is Trident 3.1 not Trident 4.
In automotive parlance, its a mid-term facelift not a new model.

Re: Trident Pro 300 Preview
Why is a display caseback a deal breaker? I mean, no one is forcing you to take it off and look at the underside of the case??? I don't see the harm, especially since it doesn't appear that is increases the thickness of the watch.
As for a COSC version, I do agree that would be nice. But for $850 that's a good enough movement for me. My Atoll is at +8.2 s/d which is excellent for a <$600 watch.

If I may, on the thread that was locked, @MichaelMD posted a picture of a green version.MichaelMD wrote: ↑Wed Aug 24, 2022 7:48 pmWhy is a display caseback a deal breaker? I just think it's noticeable how different the green version looks in this picture to the flat head-on picture on the website.

Re: Trident Pro 300 Preview
I would suspect it is because it’s a cheap movement that is not worth showing off. Imo it’s a gimmick for those who are just coming into the world of watches.MichaelMD wrote: ↑Wed Aug 24, 2022 7:48 pmWhy is a display caseback a deal breaker? Re: Trident Pro 300 Preview
OK but I'm still not understanding what the harm is? On your wrist it can't be seen. What is the downside vs a closed case back? I agree that it's not the move beautiful movement in the world, but is still fun to look at and more interesting than a steel plate.golfjunky wrote: ↑Wed Aug 24, 2022 8:08 pmI would suspect it is because it’s a cheap movement that is not worth showing off. I thought clear vs closed was a thickness thing but if wrong then it’s just horses for courses

Well I was all set on the green as ever since I moved my Oris Aquis green on earlier this year I’ve missed it. Suffice to say I’m now on the white dial on strap, with bracelet added at a later date to save some cash initially

Excellent points. Well said, sir.albionphoto wrote: ↑Wed Aug 24, 2022 7:06 pmWell this is the CW forum and CW were preaching to the choirCaller wrote: ↑Wed Aug 24, 2022 6:54 pm
I have to agree. The presentation must have been something else to achieve the euphoria being displayed here! When I first looked at the updated website, I was looking for the new watch, then I realised I was looking at the same watch, sort of, or as near as any other CW dive watch, which actually was the new watch. Confused? Me too. I thought it was going to be distinctive from the rest.
In fairness, it must have been my understanding of what the new watch represented that was at fault. So it was all about the gubbings underneath the dial, but not the overall appearance? Unless you use a tape measure.
Maybe a bit harsh in view of previous criticism of not having a brand identity, but even Omega, when launching a new Seamaster, ensure it is different enough from the last one to make it recognisable as a new model!
But there you go. It is what it is and there are lots of happy potential buyers here, so job achieved. It's a nice watch and brings some features from the, IMO, best looking current CW (the C60 #Tide) to the C60 Trident Pro. Will it cure cancer? No. Is it ever going to be a mindless, fan-boy classic like any release by Rolex or Tudor? No. It is a nice looking watch and it's not retro. Well done CW and I hope it sells well.

I assume the green on this is the same as the green on the new Sealander. I placed an order for the black one because the black diver I have is a Tudor Submariner that has a lot of sentimental value, but man... I'm looking at that green and thinking it was a mistake to order the black.

Re: Trident Pro 300 Preview
I don't think this is a particularly safe assumption. They are probably fairly close, but there is no reason for them to be the same - particularly as the green for the C60 will have been driven by what greens were available in ceramic for the bezel, and the dial would have followed that to match. The C63 didn't have that constraint, as it has a steel bezel, so is likely a slightly different tone to the C60.NationOfLaws wrote: ↑Wed Aug 24, 2022 8:22 pm I assume the green on this is the same as the green on the new Sealander.

To my eye, the shades of green and blue both looked different than other greens and blues CW has used before. But a lot depends on monitor settings and the renders themselves, so you’re mileage may vary.NationOfLaws wrote: ↑Wed Aug 24, 2022 8:22 pm I assume the green on this is the same as the green on the new Sealander. If it helps... the new discount codes appear to be working, even though not formally released... easy enough to figure what they are and try them
