I'm really hoping the colours are not too 'out there'. This looks promising...

38mm is just too small for me…I love the dial and the Eve colour though!

Same, also the Silica. I'm very glad the faux aged lume has gone, something that always puts me off of a lot of watches, regardless of brand.

C65 Dune Aeolian Collection: a modern twist on the classic field watch that combines rugged versatility with striking design innovations. Featuring textured dials inspired by the aeolian sand patterns of the Dune du Pilat in the south of France, updated straps, and fresh colours, this reborn collection showcases Christopher Ward’s commitment to craftsmanship and creativity at an accessible price point.

Aeolian patterns are small, wave-like ridges formed on sandy surfaces by wind. The term “Aeolian” comes from Aeolus, the Greek god of wind.

“Three-dimensional textured dials are not something we’d done much before The Twelve,” says Mike France, Christopher Ward’s co-founder and CEO. “But they’re exciting and can truly bring a watch to life. Dune Aeolian’s dial is very different to the Twelve’s, though: with no sharp corners, it’s undulating and organic.”

Christopher Ward’s Senior Designer Will Brackfield elaborates: “We recently created a limited-edition Dune called The Shoreline in collaboration with Oracle Time, and it sold out incredibly fast. The feedback was fantastic - people loved the evocative dial and unique colour scheme. Dune Aeolian builds on that concept with more refined details, versatile colours, and improved straps.”

Replacing the now-discontinued Dune models from the debut series, the new Dune Aeolian collection offers three distinct models. Starting from £750/$895/€950, the C65 Dune Aeolian Automatic comes in four nature-inspired colours, including the popular White Sand and new shades like Eve blue, accented by old radium style, or pale blue lume. The C65 Dune Aeolian Bronze COSC (from £985/$1,165/€1,235) features a COSC-certified movement, a patina-developing bronze case, and gradient dials in earthy tones, marrying a heritage feel with contemporary manufacturing techniques and high-quality bronze. For globetrotters, the C65 Dune Aeolian GMT (from £995/$1,165/€1,250) boasts dual-time functionality with a bold GMT hand, and a distinctive, raised outer ring in White Sand or Eve blue. All models are powered by Sellita movements, visible through sapphire casebacks, with water resistance of 150 meters ensured by a tactile, screw-down crown.

The C65 Dune Aeolian Collection delivers an adventurous spirit with a level of dial refinement usually synonymous with the dress genre. It’s a true testament to Christopher Ward’s ability to push boundaries while staying true to their ethos in offering premium watches at an accessible price.

Does anyone happen to know if there were any case design changes?

Did anyone ask them about a larger case size (40/42mm)?

Case is the same as the original C65 Dune and Sandhurst Series 2, with the adoption of a new crystal. edit 12:56hrs

CW believes that 38mm is a sweet spot for the Field watch genre. Nothing larger planned.

These are the first watches from CW for a while that I’m intrigued by.

The hands look in the photos to have a subtle curve to their profile rather than the sharp crease on the usual trident hands. I had this on my Explorer and loved how they looked.

The box crystal gives it some interest as well. I’ve moved away from flat crystals and all my current collection have some sort of dome or shape to them.

What I can’t tell from the photos is whether the bronze has an ombré type fade on the dial which looks to be absent from the steel versions.

The different lume colours is also interesting but I’m afraid I prefer the version that isn’t available. Much like the Aquitaine watches, CW offer a lot of different options but don’t make the version with all the right elements coming together how I would prefer them.

I love these. I pre-ordered straight after the preview on Tuesday. I went for the Eve Blue version, but I think all of them look great.

I think they all look great, I was sold at the presentation.
Like a few others have said, 38mm may be just to small for me.

On the other hand, it's a field watch, a rugged, functional timepiece that should be unobtrusive. At least, this seems to be the design brief that I have understood to be their purpose. It just so happens that CW have made them stunning to boot.

This is their best collection in a while, in my opinion. I am honestly quite taken with all of them, apart from the bronze on the bracelet. It reminds me of my nans rheumatism band she always wore. On the strap it's lovely. Those GMTs are just a great all round piece at a super price, actually they are all great value.

This is the most tempted ive been by a CW since I bought the blue marine that started it all.
