When I watched the preview yesterday the first thing that popped in my head is they got the dial idea from Tag Heuer. Definitently some similarities there. As for the watch, it looks good. But for me 38mm is too small. If they offered in a 40+ size I might consider it.
It's based on the CW x Oracle Time C65 Dune Shoreline, which was introduced 3 months before the revised TAG Heuer Aquaracer was announced.

That's interesting. I didn't realize that, thanks. I had to watch the preview with the sound down due to a meeting I was in at the same time.

As a very happy owner of the Shoreline, this release smarts a little, but given the reception that it received from people that missed out, CW would have been crazy not to capitalise on a wider release.
It would maybe have been nice to have seen a different wave pattern as was the case to differentiate the C60 #tide from the C60 BLUE LE which preceded it, but as nice as the new colours are, none of them are calling to me to replace or add to the Shoreline.

If anyone in the US is on the fence about purchasing, if you buy on the leather strap in GBP, it brings the price down to below the tariff threshold - $783 plus local sales tax versus the advertised USD price of $910 plus local sales tax and import duty! With the local sales taxes in MD, where I am, that amounts to $831 paying in GBP versus $1,058 paying in USD. That’s a nice savings, slightly more than 21%! I’m actually tempted.

Unfortunately this has been a trend of CW for a while now. They release a one-off special edition. Then they find out it's a big hit and sells out immediately. Then a year a or later they release a non-LE version of a very similar watch. I'm an original Atoll owner so I'm familiar with this concept. I don't think it's a good approach for a company because it tends to alienate the most passionate supporters of the brand. Ask Grand Seiko how this strategy is working out for them lately.

It happened to me with the AMGT LE. Oddly enough, it’s a problem that can be easily avoided with a simple change of labeling - just don’t call it a limited edition. Call it a special edition or a special run. Just don’t use the word limited and problem solved.

Yeah and don't number the watch. 249-of-1000 or whatever
Also funny when they use the same name. Limited Edition Atoll followed by non-Limited Edition Atoll. I mean at least have the decency to call it something else.

It seems that the options with bronze bracelets are no longer available, even on pre-order. Perhaps they will reappear later?

I know; I own the C60 BLUE and used to own the mk2 C60 bronze Ombre, both of which saw what one might call their USPs largely reused. I think when I aired my grievances over the mk3 Ombre on here I took a bit of criticism for it.
This case feels slightly different from those in that they're new colourways and I still feel like I own the best of them (and have a trident counterweight!).

I think that’s a very big deal! I didn’t realize how much I like the counter weight until it was missing. I understand why they ditched it for this model, though.

Great collection, I love these dials.
I was hoping they would make other watches with this dial after the Oracle Time Dune Shoreline.
Thanks CW !
I miss my Dune GMT a little, I might console myself with a new Bronze Dune.
