This will be my first time paying the DHL duty fee. I paid in Pounds with a no FTF card and it converted right to $810. So close!

Re: January Sale - 2025
I still haven’t gotten the email with the link, and already 1/3 of the stuff is gone! Crazy.
On the bright side, the sale has been going long the last couple years, and there should be re-stocks in the near future.

Re: January Sale - 2025
The thing I took from scrolling through the sale items was how much CW prices have climbed over the years.
There are great bargains for those who wanted a specific watch before the sale but waiting to get it at a discount.
However these sale prices, for me at least, are beyond a quick impulse buy like the sales of old.
This isn’t a reflection on CW, but rather the increasing prices of watches in general.

I've always gotten the emails really late too.scampbell61 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 08, 2025 4:15 pmNever received the email link, signed up twice. Glad I decided to check the Forum.
Agreed, this forum is the first stop on sale day because someone will get the link posted quickly.

That’s a pretty good selection! Nothing’s tempting me to open my wallet though.

Re: January Sale - 2025
Got the link at about 2 mins after 3pm - Well done CW
I wasn't after any watches from here, was tempted by a white dial 39mm Sealander GMT but then my wife returned from food shopping complaining how much a small shopping expedition had cost so couldn't justify approx. £700 on a watch that'd sit in a drawer for a big percentage of time. Plus I've got medical expenses of about the same amount due to appear in February.
Maybe I'll put a watch in the Sales Corner once the hysteria of the CW Sale has settled so I can get at least part of the money for the Sealander GMT.
I did spend £35 though on a blue Vacona strap that should be nice on my 39mm Sealander blue 3 hander.

Re: January Sale - 2025
Received the link at 1 minute past the hour but looks like it was up quite long before that!
I went into it with a view of only purchasing if one (or more) of the three specific watches with strap/bracelet combination I had in mind was on sale, just to avoid any impulse purchases. Managed to get the Pro 300 Bronze Blue Ombré which was one of my three. As NN I'm a bit nervous that it may already have a patina to it, but time will tell.

I post a few watch pictures now and then to a little Instagram account - 16 followers and counting!

Re: January Sale - 2025
So close but so far for me. They have exactly the sealander I'm after but it's still £10 too expensive and will hit the duty limit which adds $400 in duty and GST coming into the country. Damn. So very very close.MomentsNotice wrote:This will be my first time paying the DHL duty fee. I paid in Pounds with a no FTF card and it converted right to $810. So close!

Just had a scroll through. Could be tempted by a blue dune, if the price drops a bit more. Otherwise, wallet seems safe for now!

Re: January Sale - 2025
Found myself very tempted to pick up a Trident GMT but ideally only wanted it on consort and both in sale were only on bader. Wallet closed for now. Didn’t fancy the faf of picking up consort strap in sale and selling the bader

The Sale price is what it is. Never known them to drop over time. An item is either Sold, or withdrawn when the sale finishes.

Oh, I lied, I just picked up a Vacona Leather strap in blue, 20-VAC-01-SXB-BB-ST, for £35, half price. Gosh.

Have you tried looking at the price in Sterling on the UK website, letting you bank do the currency conversion?ABW wrote: ↑Wed Jan 08, 2025 4:28 pmSo close but so far for me. Re: January Sale - 2025
Ok stupid question. Trying to purchase a strap. The "Add To Bag" button is sort of greyed out and not working. Can I assume it is sold and just hasn't been removed from the sale page yet for some reason?
