I think it was actually a C1 Grand Malvern Moonphase, if that's any consolation. Or maybe that makes it worse?!
Definitely a blue dial C9 Moonphase.

Re the moonphase

I saw it in the early hours, UK time. It was reduced from about £1500 to under £1000 (from memory), and was "add to bag" for quite a time. I don't know if it helps identify it, for what good that does. There was another even more expensive one as well, I can't quite remember which. I wasn't up for buying either of them, or I would be able to help more.

There were also a couple of older watches, I assume, that I assumed they found in a forgotten corner of CW towers. The C5 malvern automatics, and a green C3 quartz, if I remember correctly.

edit. @Bahnstormer_vRS Guy had it correct. The expensive one was the 43.5mm World timer he mentioned. I assume he has pinpointed the correct moonphase as well. A lovely deep blue, certainly.

Anyway.

Hopefully in 6 months time, we can try again in the summer sale extravaganza :D

Then I can break my "no more watches" pledge. Especially if the stock markets continue to thrive. :D

I ordered the Worldtimer, thought long and hard about the case size, and canceled this early AM. So keep an eye out in case it returns to the sale.

Maybe stop posting all these negative things because it might make you a happier person if you focused on the positive, you are going to be getting a very cool watch.
Salvo1972 wrote: Fri Jan 17, 2025 10:16 pm Ordered on the first day of the sale and it’s still marked as “pre order”. I also went a bit wild and ordered 4 more straps!

I am worrying a bit that there is no change on the watch itself. I will be particularly annoyed if it’s not available as there were plenty of opportunities to buy the white GMT in the sale.

I was thinking to leave it till after the weekend and maybe send a chase up email?
Don't send a follow up email. Read my post about Customer Service linked below.

Would be a shame as I’m quite sold on the CW brand now.

My C63 Sealander on the Blue Hybrid has also been stuck in limbo since I ordered on the 10th!! The status still says "preparing for dispatch". Unsure why... I'm new to CW and this was my first order. Getting a bit nervious if its unavailable... since 5 days later I ordered the consort bracelet for it.
You edited out maybe the most important point of my post...
nycWATCHnerd wrote: Fri Jan 17, 2025 7:45 pm These seem like very good turn around times from order to shipping based on their extra order volume during these types of sales.

CW is not Amazon. When CW has a (winter) sale it is not like during the holidays when Amazon adds 10s of thousands of workers. CW Staff is doing at least twice the work with the same amount of staff. We should be praising them and not vilifying them.

To all the CW newbies (and old timers), please be patient. It's not like this is a life and death situation. You are getting a watch so if it takes a few days longer so be it. Do not let it ruin your overall long term happiness for a few extra days it may take for your order to be processed and shipped to you.

If you need something to distract you and have not already done so please read my long-ish post about Customer Service otherwise drink some herbal tea, meditate, read Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, or whatever you can do put this all in perspective.

If I am being introspective and/or Zen, as a younger man I would be one the many people posting about why my watch has not yet arrived. As a 50+ year old man, I simply do not care. It will get here as soon as it is supposed to get here in a few days, a week, a month, or whenever. As one gets closer to death and starts counting every minute, you realize work is not as important as you once thought it was and neither is stuff.

There does seem to be a connection between zen, time and watches. Will more watches help me achieve zen?

Absolutely not! :)

You may end up using too much mental bandwidth deliberating the daily choice of watch!

I've mentioned earlier, but for what it's worth, my watch ordered on 10th got shipped on Friday. I didn't get it today, so I assume Monday. So you should be getting releases on shortly.

Meanwhile you can buy a watch in AliX and expect it to be delivered to the UK at around a week now. A few years ago, you waited a month or so for a container to arrive, but it must be all air shipped now.

There definitely was a C1 GM Moonphase! Beautiful timepiece. Another which this sale has introduced me to.

Don't leave, that was not my point. My point was to chill out.

Stay here because there are so many good people and so many good discussions about watches and other stuff. You simply limited yourself to what became a high stress thread about order delivery times.

If I remember correctly, the last sale thread from July was more positive and focused on all the great deals people got and then thankfully people started posting wrist shots when stuff arrived. I really hope this thread turns back around into a more positive tone.

Here are a few interesting threads to peruse while you wait for your order to arrive:

The "what watch are you day dreaming about now" thread

Watch(es) of the day - how do you choose?

Watch photos - what makes a good one? Discuss.

Had a DPD delivery text this morning whilst I was at work. No problem I said to myself, it’s just a strap. The wife won’t mind.

Just got home to 2 new watches and a strap ordered on 8th and 9th.

Very pleased and was worth the impatience and wait.

Thanks all for keeping me sane during my first CW sale experience.

Now to explain myself to the wife :D

I hope this isn't against forum etiquette or anything, but personally, I would recommend against getting into it if you are not already strongly inclined towards these little things we have come to gather around. As much as I love and don't regret any spending personally. It isn't going to add anything to your life that is necessary. It's a superfluous, expensive and time consuming hobby. Life can be full without a single watch. Don't let us get you started on what is genuinely an addiction.
