I have a number that I wear across several watches and I like the concept, the look and the feel. But I totally agree on the paradox of them taking forever to dry once wet. You would intuitively think that they are ideal for swimming and days at the pool, and frankly even doing the dishes or bathing the kids, but they are not, IMO.Bahnstormer_vRS wrote: ↑Wed Jan 15, 2025 5:14 pmThe #tide straps have not been part of CW's regular inventory for the last six months or so. They were last available in the July '24 sale at half price.MomentsNotice wrote: ↑Wed Jan 15, 2025 4:55 pm I wish the Tide straps for sale were in size and color combinations I could use. I'd really like to try one (or two) out. I hope they're not being discontinued entirely.
Some Pool Blue models have been added and there was a white Sealander GMT that disappeared quickly, but a black GMT is still available.
I guess those been offered now are the remnants of stock.
As to their wearability; they're stout and a much better proposition than a floppy NATO on heftier watches. They take a bit of moulding to the wrist; best done by rolling through your thumb & fingers to bend it.
As to their feel, I find them super smooth on the skin and are best worn slightly loose; a bit like a bangle.
Downside, if there is one; due to the very tight weave of the thread, which makes them stout, if they get wet they hold water and take a while to dry out. On a hot day, I find that works to cool the wrist.![]()

PS> I've got over half a dozen in different colours, bought a 22mm blue/white/steel last week and have just now bought a black/red/titanium for my C60 Elite 1000 Blue/Black (T0BK0). Okay, I've got a black/red already but not with the titanium buckle.

Yup 9,754 order numbers between a Tide strap I just ordered and my watch I ordered at the weekend.
Given they say they are Mon-Fri 9-5, that’s a lot of things to ‘prepare for despatch’.
I didn’t like the story about the watch whose box wasn’t shut properly!

My second, not despatched yet was101626xxx, and my third was 101634xxx.LambethCW wrote: ↑Wed Jan 15, 2025 8:29 pm Yup 9,754 order numbers between a Tide strap I just ordered and my watch I ordered at the weekend.

As you say, that's a lot of orders to manage.

A lot of turnover for CW as well, although a fair number will be straps.

They use both 9 digit "Web order numbers" as well as 6 digit "order numbers" on the same order. The UK and US websites use different number ranges for web order numbers: UK: 101XXXXXX and US: 201XXXXXX but appear to use the same range for order numbers.
We should focus on order numbers. Unfortunately, we do not get the order number until we receive the dispatch email. The web order number is included in the order confirmation email and what you are all referencing.
Examples:
August 5th 2024 - order on the US site with a web order number of 20110XXXX and an order number of 791XXX.
August 6th 2024 - order on the UK site with a web order number of 10143XXXX and an order number of 791XXX.
August 29th 2024 - order on the UK site with a web order number of 10146XXXX and an order number of 796XXX
Based on my old order numbers, CW captured about 5,000 paid orders in a 24 day period which is about 208 per day. From August 5th to August 6th still during the July sale which ran over 30 days, they captured more than 500 in a 24 hour period (I did not post my full order numbers but did the calculation). Also note in the pic below that it was 3 days from order date (Tuesday) to invoice/dispatch date (Friday) even at the end of the sale.
I work in IT but this is a guess because application/systems development is not my area of expertise. CW may use the web order number in the "web system" to track an induvial cart whether or not it leads to a purchase but once payment is made then it creates an actual order number in the "sales/inventory" system. Everything is tracked on the Internet so the web order number could be connected to your email, your IP, a cookie in your browser, or all of them. Remember that big brother is always tracking you (at least in the US because the UK and Europe have better privacy laws).

Re: January Sale - 2025
On reflection I wonder if the last number is a check digit of some sort. Surely there can't be approaching 20,000 orders in such a small period. 2000 might make more sense.

See my post directly above yours.
I think the order number (not web order number) is more telling but one does not get it until the order dispatch email.
Re: January Sale - 2025
New to the forum and gutted I missed out on the initial drops! Hopefully no white Sealander GMTs amongst those deals...

Re: January Sale - 2025
Well I ended up canceling my order yesterday; as the wait got longer I mulled it over more and more and decided that if I really wanted it I’ll pick up a new model and reduce the risk about what condition NN might be. I can’t remember whose post above it was but it was useful in helping me ask the question: if the same model was available in ‘like new’ condition at 20% off retail in Sales Corner, would I buy it from there or a new one from CW? I concluded I’d probably just buy a new one, so no reason I shouldn’t apply the same logic to the sale.
CS email sent, no reply as yet, order still Being Prepared For Despatch. So I suppose for a little bit it’s Schrödinger's Trident Pro: bought but not bought, cancelled but not cancelled.

I post a few watch pictures now and then to a little Instagram account - 16 followers and counting!

Re: January Sale - 2025
^^^^ Okay, so you're waiting for a reply to your email to CW's customer service and getting impatient.
Do you carry on waiting patiently of fire off another email in frustration, maybe forwarding off the back of your original one?
The following was posted on the CWE Facebook Group yesterday, by someone in that position;-
"Ok, so update on all of my customer service issues. Apparently, whenever you send a follow up email, it bumps you to the back of the answering queue, because they answer emails in the order that they are received, and when you follow up, that makes your email the most recent one. So tip: when you email Christopher Ward support, never ever follow up, or you will wait much longer."

Re: January Sale - 2025
Not sure this us true. I've been chasing up a none sale order from 3rd jan and just replying in the same e mail chain. Had responses the same day 4 times now. SO not sure generating fresh e mail is quicker.
Re: January Sale - 2025
I've had the same experience in previous support cases. Once the thread was live after the initial response from CW, replies were prompt.
Perhaps that's the difference; new queries join a queue and open queries will then join an "open ticket" timed thread until closure. I imagine there are internal SLA's to close a case once picked up by an agent.
