Interesting find...wish it were 42mm.Mikkei4 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 14, 2025 4:24 pm Just had a daily look at the Sale pages.
I've not noticed it before but spotted a 38mm black dial Trident 300 with orange tip to the second hand and orange AUTOMATIC word. Was that ever an option as red is the usual colour with the black dial as far as I can recall?

What about people that maybe have got their Dragonflyes from sale already dispatched? are they gonna ask them to return their watches?
They should apologise to the owners of Dragonfly model, promise not to sell any more online and maybe compensate them with a discount or something. That would've been another, better way of handling this.
"And a sales agreement is a sales agreement." I think you'll find, it's not.
When you click 'complete' to buy online, you are submitting an 'Offer to Treat' which the seller is not obliged to accept.

Well, our online "order" may be an "invitation to treat", but I assume it was accompanied by payment in full. In this instance it's not clear whether @HAYQ received an email acceptance first, or just the cancellation email he showed. Maybe that's immaterial, but maybe not.
So whether it comes under E&OE, force majeure, or something else, it's not completely clear that there was an obvious error.
In @HAYQ position, I might venture an email to Mike, pointing out the price was similar to other BCs and he would have no reason to assume there was an obvious error, and he had just managed to be in the right place at the right time. I think CW ought to honour the deal.
At one point in the past I bought a trident in a sale from CW, but was sent a Trident GMT. I pointed it out, and they sent a returns form. At the time I was quite surprised they didn't offer to let me keep the GMT if I wished.
It's also not clear where @HAYQ lives in relation to a physical store. There might be no realistic way he could ever visit and buy this BC without incurring a lot of expense. Maybe he could travel to Maidenhead to buy the dragonfly BC, and then attempt to recover the travelling costs incurred.

edit. Yes, it may not have been other buyers complaining. It's perhaps more likely that someone went to pick one of these to ship, and noted that this watch shouldn't be sold by mail order, or something similar.

Re: January Sale - 2025
Now I would start this post by saying that believing something to be true without proof is almost the exact definition of an assumption. So you have assumed it's because of people complaining to CW.HAYQ wrote: ↑Tue Jan 14, 2025 3:50 pm
Well first of all it`s not something I assume. There were several people complaining on FB and saying they'll write strongly worded emails to CW and threaten to return their used Dragonfly watches. So I do have a strong reason to believe that it's because of this.
However, this new information is somewhat interesting. While I don't think it overrides the legalities, it does perhaps to some extent constitute an acknowledgement of your order, so maybe you have grounds to respond to CW saying that you had received implicit confirmation of your order via this discussion. I'm not saying that I think they should fulfil the order, just that it might be an avenue open to you.HAYQ wrote: ↑Tue Jan 14, 2025 3:50 pm
I even have an email from their customer support congratulating me on this "beautiful piece". I had sent an email and asked if they would size the bracelet to may wrist size and I would pay. They answer that they can do it and I don`t need to say and congratulations on a very beautiful watch that I have purchased. So again this tells me they had all intentions to send this out and they do have the watch, it`s not like it's out of stock.
Here the phrase "cutting off one's nose to spite one's face" springs to mind. I'm in danger of repeating my previous post but, as it stands, last week you couldn't buy the Dragonfly BC. This week, you still can't buy the Dragonfly BC. There's a heightened expectation in between, but CW have responded with an alternative solution. I think cancelling the orders of watches you presumably wanted is probably going to matter more to you than it is to CW...HAYQ wrote: ↑Tue Jan 14, 2025 3:50 pm
Anyways I can`t fly to UK or US just for this watch (which is also why I was so excited to get this chance). I have 2 BC orders from them (where Dragonfly was one) and one Moonphase 37mm, so I`ll just have to cancel of my orders if they insist on going through with this decision or can`t offer a better resolution.
I post a few watch pictures now and then to a little Instagram account - 16 followers and counting!

NON-Sale - Sealander, Sealander GMT and hybrid strap - Ordered on the 10th - being prepared for dispatch

Am I annoyed, not yet.

I received an email confirming my order, and the funds were successfully taken from my credit card. I also received an email from customer service acknowledging the purchase, and showing that they were well aware that it was for this particular version of the watch.
While I understood that this was a special showroom model, I had no reason to suspect it was listed in error. The price was the same as other models in the sale, and it was described as used/nearly new. If it had been a brand-new Dragonfly model, I might have questioned its availability online, but offering a nearly new version made sense to me.
Additionally, the fact that the Dragonfly sold out almost instantly, only for more to be added repeatedly over several days, further reinforced my belief that this was not a mistake but a deliberate sale.

A character in the "Just William" series of books. Rather fond of getting her own way.I don't know who Violet Elizabeth Bott is.

Re: January Sale - 2025
Very poor organisation of the sale. No one answers my questions, no one is going to send me my order (I ordered even before the official start time). This is strange for an online company that should be working WAY too late. This is not an offline shop where you can afford to rest.
This will be my first watch and already my opinion is a bit tainted.

In Winter Sale section only and no longer listed in strap section:
20-HYB-01-SXKO-DC-ST (20mm, hybrid rubber black/orange)
20-HYB-01-SXKR-DC-ST (20mm, hybrid rubber black/red) was listed a few days ago but now gone

22-HYB-01-SXKR-DC-ST (22mm, hybrid rubber black/red)
New Trident Pro 300 listings (not in winter sale):
Black 38mm and 40mm are only offered on black/black hybrid rubber and 42mm on black/red hybrid rubber
Blue 38mm,40mm, and 42mm are offered on blue/orange hybrid rubber
White 38mm,40mm, and 42mm are offered on black/orange hybrid rubber
- Could CWL be phasing out the two color hybrid rubber straps on the Trident Pro 300?

I'm in the same boat, ordered a C60 Atoll last Wednesday afternoon, still being prepared for dispatch. Frustrating to see that orders are not being fulfilled by their place in the queue, but maybe orders are grouped by shipping region or similar?Ralphhardwick wrote: ↑Tue Jan 14, 2025 5:00 pm Just in case anyone else is pacing the floor wondering when their orders will ship, here is my current situation:

I doubt it’s grouped by region, as I have received one of the orders, just not oldest
