Re: January Sale - 2025
You are right guy. I have an older 22 with the C surrounding the W logo. That goes from 22 down to 20. I also have a brown cordovan with no logo that goes from 18 down to 16. I bought that one in a sale not too long after I joined the forum.

A fair point, it's just a watch.tikkathree wrote: ↑Sat Jan 11, 2025 6:01 pm Honestly no I don't feel that way. The fact is that the winter sales probably stretch staff resources at CW beyond their normal capacity and I sleep sound in my armchair by telling myself that a few days' wait is no big deal. Pull up a chair, let me pour you a coffee![]()

All of mine have tapers. 18/16, 20/18 and 22/20. I have ordered another one (in the sale) which I imagine is 20/20. I wouldn't want a straight 22, but a straight 20 will be ok at a bargain price, I'm sure.tikkathree wrote: ↑Sat Jan 11, 2025 6:07 pm^^^^^^^ guy's answer is correct. I don't think I've handled a bader clasp strap which is not, like this one, completely parallel with zero taper.JAFO wrote: ↑Sat Jan 11, 2025 3:55 pmI did as well. Out of interest does it have a taper, or is it straight?tikkathree wrote: ↑Sat Jan 11, 2025 3:43 pm I grabbed a 20mm black cordovan leather strap with the intention of preserving the oe Strap on my recently acquired Red 12. In fact it also works on other 20mm watches such as this C9 Nth Degree Alpha LE which needs a link putting back in. And if there isn't a half link it will then be too long20250111_143631.jpg20250111_142925.jpg
I do like that it has q/r spring bars which will facilitate watch-hopping.
My dark brown 18/16 is still unworn. My honey 18/16 is on a vintage watch, but I've not worn it for a long time. Gorgeous colour.
I also bought a non cordovan strap in the sale on a similar clasp. Vacona leather, 20mm which may be straight. I doubt it will wear quite like a cordovan, but the bader clasp will be a treat.

Re: January Sale - 2025
For the first time in several years there is not a CW in my collection.... This sale has "fixed" this problem for me. I've always loved the pre-aquitaine C65 Trident diver series the best, having worn the C65 GMT with stainless bezel as a daily driver for more time than any other watch in my collection. That said, I picked up a C60 Trident Pro 300 in navy blue in the past and really fell in love with that model (though I did choose to pass it on to someone else). When I visited Windup in NYC this past fall I tried on a Lumiere (and it looks much better in person than in pictures IMHO) and the pool blue C60 Trident Pro 300 and was quite taken by it... this is where the sale comes in - I was happy to be able to order it in 40mm and a day later a matching bracelet popped up!
This past year I've focused my collection on colorful dials and microbrands - Pro 300 in pool blue will fit right in, and according to DHL, could arrive by Monday!

Re: January Sale - 2025
I received my confirmation of order for NN trident GMT Navy at 3.09 on Wednesday 8 Jan but still no despatch email. Whilst I appreciate CW will have had a lot of orders to process, I am starting to wonder if I was too late and whether I will receive a not able to fulfil your order email/call. I have purchased two watches and a number of straps over last few years but only a strap in the sale previously but can’t recall if I received a despatch email on every occasion I placed an order.
Does anyone know if a dispatch email always sent or are there occasions where an order will arrive with no dispatch email being received beforehand?

@golfjunky Thanks for letting me know that offers some comfort that I am just in the queue of orders to be processed. It has only been two workings days after all in probably one of their busiest periods , I will just need to be patient

I think maybe only some Mods and the lucky ones get theirs early. Let’s hope we are not let down and just in a queue.

Re: January Sale - 2025
Me too, still being prepared, but I’m relaxed.
Out of interest though, does anyone have a sense of CWL’s per day dispatch capacity?

I post a few watch pictures now and then to a little Instagram account - 16 followers and counting!
Re: January Sale - 2025
Vacona strap delivered this morning
after a failed delivery yesterday (not sure what he did as we were both in
)
The shade of blue is a little different (lighter than the cordovan?) to what I imagined but still looks good.

Re: January Sale - 2025
I ordered a couple of watches and a strap when the sale opened. 1 watch and a strap show in my CW account as "Being prepared for despatch" and the other shows as "Pre-Order". Seems odd for a sale watch to show as pre-order when it must be in stock?
Anyone else got this or is it looking like I'm being set up for disappointment?

Re: January Sale - 2025
On Wednesday, I separately ordered a watch and a strap, both being delivered by the same courier on Saturday. I know I logged into my account before I ordered the watch but can't be certain I hadn't timed out of my account when a while later I ordered the strap. I had plenty of emails advising that the two had been despatched/were in transit/were out for delivery/had been delivered. On Sunday neither item has appeared in my account and, because this has happened in the past I'm not unduly concerned: curious but not troubled. I take the view that during sale times the priority is on packing and despatch with account records taking a back seat.JRC wrote: ↑Sun Jan 12, 2025 2:16 pm I ordered a couple of watches and a strap when the sale opened. 1 watch and a strap show in my CW account as "Being prepared for despatch" and the other shows as "Pre-Order". The third item which I ordered on Thursday has shown up in my account from the outset and shows as "being prepared" etc.
Historically it hasn't been unusual for sale items to show up as pre-order. If you wanted to set your mind at rest you might send customer services an email for them to pick up on Monday morning?

Re: January Sale - 2025
My C63 also waiting to be shipped. It's only been a few days so not a big deal. Hopefully tomorrow a lot of watches start hitting the post.
If the watch was available to order it'll arrive at some point.
I think I sent an email a few years ago when a week or more had elapsed before my C60 shipped. It happens.
