Haha! Memory is a dangerous road to go down! I bought my GMT Master second hand in 1991 for less than $1k. I distinctly remember Speedmasters being sold in the Exchange catalog (I was in the military at the time) for $795. A Tudor sub was something like $550.wilfmannion wrote: ↑Mon Oct 28, 2024 8:03 pm Yes, the Seamaster I have is one I’ve had since 1998. I paid about £1000 brand new if I remember correctly. No way to get a proper Omega diver nowadays for that money. The Seamaster is the only diver I have though, which is why I think I’m heading that way with CW

If you like a more classic look I would take a look at the Dartmouth II. I am partial to the Dartmouth I but the II is a great watch with a COSC movement.
The 300 is also a great watch. It has too many compromises for my personal liking but it is very popular and has many fans.
For something off the beaten path I would look at the Lympstone. The downside is the inner compass bezel (divisive) but there is a lot to like. COSC movement, gunmetal case/bracelet and a nice blaze orange arrow seconds hand. Really great watch.
