For me, the journey to a unique & personalised level of patination is the point of bronze. Sometimes when the “optimal” finish is achieved, I think it would useful to stop right there. But then the patination gets darker, starts to look dirty in my view, and then I spend 2/3 minutes with some lemon juice to clean up the case to “almost but not quite raw”. The amazing journey starts again, a slightly different but equally enchanting experience, like a walk through the woods, different seasons, different trees, but familiar and always marvellous.
