I generally quite like it but as an ‘out and out’ dive watch it’s let down by the bezel. Firstly the inner fixed ring has now gone from individual minute markers to just five minute ones, why? And more importantly the bezel really needs to have lumed minute dashes all the way round if it wants to be a serious tool watch.

Undecided with this release.

On the one hand, it's a nice return to more conventional watches that are actual watches and not art (looking at you BL and C1 Moonphase).

Titanium? Good <-- the weight loss is noticeable, especially with a bracelet
Chronometer? Great <-- about time we moved on from a 38hr power reserve
Case? Excellent <-- lovely and svelte with nice crown guards
Colour choice? Wonderful <-- I like how the colour appears darker around the edges

But on the other hand ... hmmm :ka:

The blocky indices look ... blocky, and I'm not a huge fan of grainy looking dials. Also, why not add a splash of colour to the rotor so it matches the dial? The thinner bezel is nice but it's lost the minute markers. And there's no date :ahhh:

As for industrial strength GloboLight or a helium valve, it's not top of my list of must-haves when looking at a watch. Don't really need x2 strength lume, I'd much rather CW spent the money on making the dial more interesting like adding a power reserve.

And why has nobody yet mentioned Lumière from Beauty and the Beast, and cracked a joke about it? :o0:

I get why it's being sold at £2k (titanium isn't cheap) and the push to move the brand upwards but it's a difficult sell for me currently. Looking forward to seeing real world pics and I may pick one up at some point but not at launch. As with the Twelve, CW will no doubt release this in plenty of other colours and it's not a limited release so lots of time to ponder.

Just think CW missed a bit of a trick here by going with the full-on lume angle. Does anyone actually buy a watch based predominantly on luminosity?

 I guess I'm a tool watch kind of guy

A blue dial, happy with titanium kind of guy.

Yes, this is much more me than either the Twelve or the BC. Going all the way back to the start of my journey with this brand, I've been a tool watch kind of guy.

There's a possibility that we won't gel but I'm way more confident with this than I am with the Twelve.

I'm intrigued that we're calling it a tool watch when the story begins with setting out to create "the most luminous dive watch yet": perhaps it's to do with the crown guards? Maybe I'll call mine my Christopher Ward Lumiere dive watch.

@Trs1982 - I've gone for the Black on bracelet.

Kinda replaces the C60 Graphite I sold a few months back.

I missed the preview, but these are really quite cool 8)

It's a little too close perhaps to my SuperOcean to add to the collection at the moment, although that lume is enticing :D

Good luck to CW on another great new release

It's not the only watch called Lumière to be released today.

I'm not sure CW if have picked the best day to launch a new watch as it's likely to be lost in the flood of new releases from the Geneva Watch Days trade show which opened it's doors this morning.

I like the Lumiere especially in its grey colourway. At 41mm it is 1mm too small. I like the darker tones of titanium which does not scratch easily. It has the same hardness as 316L stainless steel used in the vast majority of dive watches. The light weight, 56 hour power reserve and slim design make this very wearable. I like the lume too. I enjoy the fact that CW have returned to the tool/dive watch range with the Pro 300 GMT and now the Lumiere. I can't buy both so a difficult choice may have to be made.

I am a contrarian and proud of it.

Grade 2 titanium DOES scratch easily compared to steel. It is significantly less hard. 120 -140 vs 160 - 200 on the vickers scale

I really like this and I'm glad that it's larger than I prefer these days...keeps it out of my ever-growing collection :)
Phew. 39mm and I wound be in trouble.
Having recently received my Twelve 36 Ti that is more my speed, and I am LOVING that. Nuts for it in fact.

I think this is a great watch. Yes the markers look 'blocky' on the ultra close-up shots but on the wrist I expect they'll look very crisp and functional.

Great to see CW putting resources into this type of watch.

I think that will make all the difference. I quite like it in the grey. I imagine with real world pics I might even love it.

Now if they came out with this in a stainless steel version and no helium valve to drop the price, I’d be looking hard at my bank balance.

That’s exactly what I find so appealing about it.

The name, however, has me thinking of Beauty and the Beast characters. Surely they could have thought of something else!
