@JAFO indeed they’re quite similar - and the Aquis is a good looker. The lugs are quite curved on the Oris if I’m not mistaken? Unless it’s just the angle of the picture. But they give it a nice shape.

When I saw your black Lumiere on the orange strap, I realized it was surprisingly similar to the watch I am wearing, which I've just posted in Non CW OTD, and then realized that @rkovars black dial PO in the Non CW thread is also similar as well.

I have the exact same thoughts between my Ombré and a Sea-Dweller. Every time I see a sub $8k Sea-Dweller for sale it gets the wheels turning but then I look at my Ombré and put my wallet back in my pocket.

Yes. I don't want to intrude on this thread, but short, stubby and curved/angular. I'll put another picture in the Non CW thread.

I`ve been eyeing on PO but that thickness has been a no go for me. Lumiere sorted it out and was my choise.
Good inspirational pic on that PO, now I`llneed black sailcloth strap

For me the PO is in a different league from the Lumiere for many reasons. A few of them outlined in my articles The Seamaster Planet Ocean and Why I Bought It and In Defense Of the Professional Tool Watch.

Like many CWs for me the Lumiere gets really close but falls short. I think that if there had been some restraint in using the ceramic lume I would be singing a different tune. I think that if they would have gone 1/2 to 2/3 the height on the hands and markers the watch would have looked a lot better to me. As it is, they went all in on the 3-D effect and I don't think it works.

The latest gen POs are definitely too thick for the given width (16.1 mm on the 43.5 - 17mm on the GMTs!). The 39.5 is better at 14.2 mm. I think the 43.5 would have been pretty perfect at 14-15 mm. The first gen PO that I have is really good at 45.5mm and just a shade under 15 mm thick. I do admit it is a chunk of metal and not everyone can pull it off (over 200g on bracelet).

As an aside, the strap on my PO is an Artem Classic with the RM style deployant.

For sure in different leagues. I`m sporting rather dainty 6.7” wrist. My goto would be GO seaq but thats a bit too much for me. I dislike thick watches and usually I would pick something less than 10mm. Alas there arent too,any divers.
What Lumiere does right is the proportions like Sinn U50. Even as 41mm this could prolly go with 6” wrist (not with bracelet) due to shorter lugs and thin profile.
Omega cannot be compared to CW but god they should slim down their watches. Even smaller AT is a pork on wrist

I love the matte fumé dial but was really disappointed by the crown guard. It looks ok on the Twelve, but changing the light catcher case to me is a sin (all the more if the motive was to differentiate to charge premium).
I am so worried I feel I need to grab a Trident 300 in case CW plans to change the crown guard on all Trident models (been waiting to see more 38mm dial options but I am about to give up).
Another disappointment was the marketing teaser: there is nothing original on the materials and finishing, it was a missed opportunity to introduce a hard coating (on steel..and sandblasting finish!) and Lumiere is definitely less of a tool watch than the other Tridents.
The rest is all good but, unlike BelCanto or the XII, it gives me the feeling that I would be overpaying for features that I don't want (helium escape valve etc).

I really wanted to love the lumiere. It ticked pretty much all the right boxes (admittedly a touch more than I'd wanted to spend) but I really liked it. That dial and lume blocks look fantastic which sets off the logo, which being understated i love. The new band i would have liked to have a little more polish but looks beautiful regardless. So I bought it.

But...I'm not sold. It's just either too small or it feels too small. And I don't have a big wrist (17cm diameter). Admittedly my current watch is a chronomat 44 so a fair bit thicker and heavier. But that 3mm, feels like it really makes a difference or the weight of it combined with being a touch smaller just feels like it's missing presence.

The finish is fantastic and that dial.. The lume blocks do look great too and at night, even better. This watch definetely punches above its weight in finish and execution I have to admit. I can't wait to see if they release a bigger elite version, that I'd fall over to buy I think.

I’ve 17cm wrist and imo this wears well.

Shortish lugs and thin case help a ton

The size question is one that comes up very often, as you would imagine.

Case diameter, dial size, L2L, height all factor in, but at the end of the day personal preference outweighs all of them. Another factor is your wrist profile: round, rectangular, broad and bony, chubby &c.

My wrist is objectively bigger than either of yours (oh, Matron!) at 7.25” or 18.4 cm, but I don’t like/wear watches over 40 mm. The only exception is my 42 mm Speedmaster Moonwatch, which doesn’t feel big, probably as a combination of the above factors, as well as being a brilliant piece of design. When I tried on a Bel Canto it felt too big.

Indeed its a matter of multiple things and even what type of watch it is plays a part.
Think CW did a good job with Lumiere and at least I’m more than happy with my purchase

I have a 7.5 inch wrist, 19cms, and I know 44mm is too big for me. I prefer 40 to 43mm. I know the 41mm Lumiere would be just right for me, but I have a somewhat similar watch already.

The current watch trend is for smaller watches, so it might be while before you see a 44mm.
