The Twelve X (Ti) - Released

^^^ Bob not sure if that will work, as the case size and L2L are different.

Re: The Twelve X (Ti) - Released
My first thoughts are, great technical achievement but not for me as I'm more of a plain, dive, tool watch wearer. But horses for courses, I applaud those who like this style of watch and hope it is all you want it to be for the price.
Instead I will wait with hope for the new Trident 300 that's advertised to have new case finishing above and beyond any trident so far, as well as other upgrades to the 300 range. Maybe I'll buy two new Trident 300's in different colors and a Hamilton. Then try to figure out what to spend the rest of the savings on.
My thoughts on this being a pre-order.
April 2024 - Let's put down an $1,800 deposit, and wait excitedly until November for an early Christmas present.
September 2024 - I just got an email from CW that there has been a slight delay, but I should get it in December before Christmas.
December 2024 - I just got another email from CW. They are waiting on one part from the manufacturer and the watch won't be ready until February.
May 2025 - The watch finally arrived, but after all the delays I'm just not feeling it. I think I'll return it and buy the C63 Valour instead.
On a side note has anyone received their C63 Valour yet? It would be great to see some real life pictures.

For those troubled by the price: A CW staffer on Reddit reiterated the 3x margin policy and indicated that this model is no exception.

Re: The Twelve X (Ti) - Released
So what those troubled by the price should take from this is that if the watch was marketed by a company not working to the 3x margin the price might be what, maybe twice the CW price?StevenFriebe wrote: ↑Thu Apr 25, 2024 2:47 pm For those troubled by the price: A CW staffer on Reddit reiterated the 3x margin policy and indicated that this model is no exception.

They should offer just the clasp as an add on for owners of the previous version.NationOfLaws wrote: ↑Thu Apr 25, 2024 2:03 pm …presumably at the cost of a new bracelet. That’s how things go,

Re: The Twelve X (Ti) - Released
I was unable to attend the preview, so saw the watch for the first time today. I like it.
There are things that are different to the C60 Concept which I like. Such as the hour markers and the minute track. I’m pleased it’s a watch that moves away from the blue and orange theme of the halo C60 models.
For a wee while I’ve been thinking about the watches I own which I wear and those which I don’t. So I’ve been wondering about making my collection smaller. I’ve now placed an order for a Twelve X thinking that there is no risk and I can change my mid later. But the plan for one is to move some watches on over the next few months. This has pushed my thinking to having a few fewer watches and some which I wear more often.
I can imagine this one becoming something of an everyday watch. Here’s hoping anyway.

Trying not to buy any more watches...
Re: The Twelve X (Ti) - Released
I’m busy at work for a few hours and we’re already on page 5 of the discussion. I’m not going to go back to quote all relevant posts but a few have mentioned how we shouldn’t be comparing the price of this watch to prices for Omega etc. I’ve also read a comment about how we shouldn’t be putting brands in perceived price brackets.
If I can use a slightly odd analogy, which may work or it may not, but will hopefully illustrate my point, I’m going to have to disagree with these comments.
If I want to buy a house I can look at well made examples built to similar standards and say they should be sold at equal prices. Except the house for sale in Barnsley is never going to sell for the same house in Oxford. I know it’s getting tenuous here, but could it not be argued that watch brand perception is a little like location, location, location?
Now sometimes houses are sold at low prices and an areas becomes gentrified and prices increase. People come round to the idea that they can pay more for the same product in the same place because it is now more desirable.
I see CW as somewhere in this gentrification journey. They may no longer be Barnsley but they certainly aren’t Omega.

Re: The Twelve X (Ti) - Released
This might make some skewed sense (it's a strange one - watches aren't houses and houses aren't luxury items

I don't believe that the remit of a watch company should be in any way defined - by anyone. That's the huge benefit of being an independent watchmaker. If CW want to bring a watch to market that costs them £30k to bring to market then that's great - and it's entirely up to them to decide if that's part of their creative journey. CW are pretty open about their'arc' compared to many other watch companies. They're not trying to b*llsh*t you into giving them your money.
I won't place any restrictions on what I think CW should do next and I won't get strangely upset about them producing a watch that costs more than the last one did.
