I was really impressed with it during the preview. The skeletonized movement looks amazing. Like they they made it light weight with Titanium and very appreciative of the micro adjust butterfly clasp which is very rare. Sharp looking watch that would be a really cool piece to own as part of a collection.

...and then they got to the price. I'm sorry Mike, but there's just no way on God's green earth I'm paying 5 grand for a Christopher Ward. I'm not a brand snob, but what draws me to CW is the value for the money more than anything. The bronze C60 Pro 300 that's on my wrist as I type is a terrific watch and a really good price. Love this watch and it's emblematic of all I appreciate about the brand. But again, biggest part to me is it's a LOT of watch for relatively LITTLE money. If this Twelve X was $2K I might consider it. But $4,865 USD just ain't happening. I suspect they are going to have trouble moving much volume on this release. Good luck to them if they can. Perhaps others see them at a different level than I do. We shall see.

Out of interest is this release the watch that celebrates 20 years of CW, or is there more to come?

The watch isn’t for me, but I wish my Twelve bracelet had the micro adjustments :(

Given time, it will have.

The micro-adjustment butterfly clasp for The Twelve's bracelet will be rolled out across the range in due course.

Right, presumably at the cost of a new bracelet. That’s how things go, but I probably would’ve held off buying if I had known I’d want to invest another $200ish on a slightly different bracelet.

It’s fine, it’s not unusual for companies to roll out improvements as things progress. I just would’ve done things differently.

It would be good if CW could offer an upgrade for existing owners. I wouldn’t pay £460 for a new complete bracelet but would consider buying the new links to get the adjustment.

I imagine a butterfly clasp bracelet with inbuilt micro adjust is quite a thing. I can't see a Ti bracelet being available at a modest price.

As @OllyW just noted.

The orders seem to be flowing in…

Now showing as end of November, rather than end of October for new orders.

There was an extract from MF’s sales script on Monday that made me smile at the time, as I thought “no Mike that isn’t quite correct!”

IIRC a micro adjustable butterfly clasp was name checked my Mike as only seen previously in PP and VC.

I have a May 2009 JLC with a micro adjust butterfly clasp bracelet. :)

There is also another integrated butterfly clasp bracelet that has had a micro adjustment for a couple of years…

The Czapek Antarctique.

I emailed Mike France and asked whether that will be possible. If he responds I’ll post it here.

We shall see indeed. Pre-orders have now moved to End November 2024, from end October 2024 on preview / release.

Anecdotally, I saw on the CWE a comment (from a CWE / Forum member) that, tracking order numbers from first thing to a couple of hours ago he reckoned there were 600 orders, deposit pre-orders for The Twelve X (Ti), this morning alone.

PS> just seen that @nbg has posted similar on timeline for pre-orders. :-k :-k

Saw the preview for this, and this is the only watch I’m currently looking at for my next watch.

Since it’s very expensive though, it’s going to be quite a while (years probably) before I move on it. I’ve wanted a Concept Twelve since the Twelve was released.

So, we've got PP, VC, JLC, Czapek, and.... CW :D

For the people saying this is way too much money for a CW, that CW is known for value for money, I think this still fits within that space. This type/style of watch with these features in this material, with this level of finishing, for under $5k. Quite the spec sheet for the cost. Those who buy I'm sure will love it. Those who don't will go on happily as well!

My answer above is based on what was said in the preview on Monday.

The debatable point will be whether one will be able to buy and retrofit the micro-adjustable clasp, or whether you'll have to buy a whole new bracelet.

Just a though - micro adjustment aside.

Would I be right in assuming (they are both 25mm) that those already owning a Twelve (Ti) on bracelet could buy the Twelve X on rubber strap and utilise the Twelve bracelet, thereby saving £350?
Time flies whether you're having fun or not. The choice is yours.
