More battery changes on CW Ladies range.

Post by MiniMpi »

Sometimes I dread looking in Louise's watch boxes.....!
To see yet another battery gone.
This time it was Louise's most prized watch, her W8 Matisse IPK 01/30 !
This is the watch I feared changing the battery in most due to the IPK caseback.
CW put a new movement in it in 2020 when the old one failed so at least I knew the caseback was off before.
Some very very precise twists of the caseback remover tool and it loosened so I did the rest with the Bergeon ball caseback remover so even less risk of any damage.
All good thankfully Image
Also I had the Renata 394 in stock so I fitted it this evening.
All cleaned and a very happy Louise and a happy and relieved Ferg Image
Put it back in the watch box and spotted Louise's R20 Charlotte Deco second hand doing the long jump to signify the battery on the way out.
Quick check and I also had that battery in stock, a Renata 364 so I fitted that one too.
No movement photos of that one as I'm heading to bed soon so I wanted to get the job done.

....
I send my Matisse to a proper watch servicing centre because I don't have the equipment or desire to do it myself.

They don't just change the battery, they also do a leak test to ensure the water resistance is up to par, which is exactly what I want because this is a 100m WR watch and I do occasionally use it in activities where it could get wet.

Impressive work. That R20 is such a good looking watch.
