Sort-of torn… Opinions please!

Post by Kyledemo »

Just got the new T300, really digging the design of this watch.

So I have a 6.75” flat wrist, and I opted for the 38mm. I got a great fit out of the bracelet and have worn it about a half day so far. Very comfy. However, it might be the design or it might just be me but I’m really torn on whether I should keep the 38 or go the 40mm route.

I have 4 watches total right now: a 39mm field, 40mm blue diver, 36mm dress, and this one.

Based on these pics, does the watch look off? Do you think the 40 would work better on my wrist?

This is going to be pretty much a 24/7/365 watch for me for the foreseeable future so I’m going to give the nod to the 38mm for comfort, but I can’t help but wonder how the 40 light catcher case would look. Opinions please!

Thanks all,
KD

I think that looks fine.

I doubt you can adjust the bracelet and wear the watch, and then decide to send it back under the 60/60, anyway.

Looks good to me, I wouldn't want it much bigger, but I am not you...

Looks good to me but I find that personally if I'm asking myself is it right on a regular basis, then it probably isn't. I had the same dilemma with a Sealander and decided to return it. Not sure if you would get a full refund for your 38mm but you could order the 40mm, compare and return your least favourite.

Only you can decide whether it seems too small.

I have a 7” wrist and wear dive watches of 38mm, 39mm, 40mm, 41mm, sometimes 42mm and very occasionally 43mm.

It just depends where and how you intend to wear the watch and whether you like a watch to be occupying all of the top of your wrist.

Hard to believe, but there are some who think a watch is too small, if the lug to lug doesn’t cover the full span of the wrist. Personally I think they believe that a large oversize watch compensates for something lacking elsewhere in their life. :)

I intend to buy a new Trident Pro 300, probably a 38mm, but maybe a 40mm. Either will be fine. Possibly a few others with a smaller wrist will select a 42mm…

Oh the watch looks fine on your wrist.

Looks great as-is, but it's totally up to your personal preference. I have a 6" wrist and happily wear 36mm to 42mm.

I'd not be wearing it around any more if you're considering returning though! If it gets dings/scratches you might not get the full purchase price back upon return.

I think it looks good one you but I think the 40 may looks just a bit better for your wrist. But really either would work. Can you order the 40 and try it out and send back whichever you like less?

I like the look of this on your wrist, and don't think it looks too small at all. I'd keep it. (That said, if I ever pop for the TP300, I've already had the same question for myself -- 38 or 40?)

The pendulum is swinging back towards smaller watches. The 38 looks great.

With my 7.25in wrist, I wear watches from 34mm to 45mm, and my personal preference is for 37-41. It depends on the watch and the feel. There are times the C63 feels big, and that’s likely because of its proportions of bezel and dial. I most often wear 38mm C65s, and almost all my dressier watches are smaller. I like the dressier style generally.

From your pics, the watch suits your wrist. You have to judge what feels best to you.

I gotta follow the herd on this one, I think the 38 looks good on you. I’m kinda pondering a 38 myself for a 7.25 or so wrist. I have a 38.5 Seiko diver and I’m liking it more every day.

My wrist is about the same size and shape as yours. 38mm is perfect for me for a daily wear watch. I also have a supercompressor at 41mm which looks great but I wouldn’t wear it for daily comfort wear.
Also I’m a girl so this may not help at all :D

It looks good on your wrist to me too.

Don't worry about the numbers, go with what pleasure you get from 1. admiring glances at your own wrist and 2. positive remarks from your watchy friends.
