Re: I think that Christopher Ward should increase his prices!
Hi.
I get what you mean by your question, but the answer is most definitely NO to price increases. As people have pointed out, they have already gone up. And big, sudden upward changes in prices would only anger or disappoint people, not make them think the watch is more luxurious or better. The quality should then enhance as well. For me, big hikes in CW prices would mean I probably wouldn't buy them. I'd most likely lose interest and start looking at other brands...

I'll tell you what. The next time you purchase a new CW you can send an equal amount to me. You will feel better, I will feel better. It's a win-win situation. The Laird wrote:Hi Everyone,

Perhaps even double them?!
What do you think?

Re: I think that Christopher Ward should increase his prices!
I understand the point. It is about 'exclusivity' and the fact that those who buy a premium brand article want to feel they have something special with price tag to match that is in effect 'rationed'. The fact is, the exclusive brands and even some not so exclusive brands fight tooth and nail to protect their price point and customer base.
Not so many years ago here in merry old England if I remember correctly, an argument started between a big Supermarket chain and several exclusive clothing brands. The supermarket had managed to source in bulk and was selling the exclusive products at knock down prices to the masses. The brands took them to court, because the huge discount was damaging their brand and its exclusivity and they were also upset that their products were being sold at such a comparatively lowly outlet. All was out of step with their marketing image and brand identity. There were also plans to branch out by the supermarket (maybe even into watches??). The brands believed (perhaps with justification) that they would lose their traditional customer base if the products were sold cheap in Supermarkets. Basically, people want to know that they are buying something that the majority of others cannot. Anyway, as I remember it, the brands won and they had to stop selling them.
Anyone else remember this? It was a big story in the UK around ten years ago.
In a sense, I think the question posed by Laird has some merit, though also rather mischievously phrased It is far more complex than a straightforward "should the prices increase" question.
Cheers,
Jack.

Levis v Tesco
Levis completely forgot to mention their own 'discount mall' store all across the US that sell their own product at 60% off!
Hypocritical?, yup

Re: I think that Christopher Ward should increase his prices!
If I wanted an "exclusive" expensive watch I could go and get one from one of dozens (maybe hundreds) of companies. From CW I want good quality and value.
