Re: I think that Christopher Ward should increase his prices!
So,as i understand it,you want to pay more for the same thing so that it feels more exclusive/luxurious?
If you can read this you are too close to your computer screen....

Re: I think that Christopher Ward should increase his prices!
I don't mind the prices going up if it means that we get museum grade crystal, the best components etc. Back to the original concept of "the cheapest most expensive watches in the world." CWL seems to have got themselves into a "reasonably priced reasonably expensive Swiss watch" area. With other web watch companies like Steinhart etc there is a lot more competition for the money. To be the cheapest is always hard as there will always be someone coming along to undercut you. So you have to sell on value. And besides which who on the forum (that has been here for more than 6 months) buys CWL watches at full price (apart from FLEs)?

Re: I think that Christopher Ward should increase his prices!
I think there are two sayings that are pertinent.
You get what you pay for
You buy the best you can afford
Following the original premise for CWL* as the "the cheapest most expensive watches in the world" then both of these criteria can be achieved.
Let me run a car analogy past you. If I can buy a car that's built by the same company, in the same factory, has more goodies as standard, has just a good warranty or better that is cheaper than an identical model build in the same factory but has a different badge then I'd be thinking bargain.
Isn't CWL* watches like that? Same engine as more expensive models, same or better build quality for the cases, better warranty, excellent customer service, I'm thinking bargain.
Why would I want to pay more for that? I may as well just go and get one with a different badge. Certainly CWL* do not feel cheap to me. In fact on handling certain more expensive brands I'm asking myself what's the money being spent on, where's the value?

But that would be totally against the founding principles of CWL:The Laird wrote:Hi Everyone,
I meant possibly rather more dramatically than this!!! He has a quality product, it should have a quality price to match! (In my humble opinion.)

http://www.christopherward.co.uk/why_ch ... rward.htmlHonest Pricing
Finally, because we want as many people as possible to enjoy the pleasure associated with owning and wearing a truly luxurious watch we make sure that the cost benefits of our model, described above, are shared equally with our customers.
Our passionate belief in “honest pricing” means that the selling price of a Christopher Ward watch is between 2 and 3 times the base manufacturing price. The luxury watch industry average is nearer 10 times and we have an example of a well known watch that retails for 30 times the manufacturing cost.
We think these multiples are completely unwarranted and exist because there has been no benchmark premium watch brand with an alternative philosophy. Until now
Hans,
Can you please turn off the poll feature, for the time being?

It's not meant to be funny or amusing, your inane, pointless polls are neither. The Laird wrote:Hi Everyone, rcherryuk wrote:[quote="The Laird

This is one comment that I don't find particularly funny or amusing!!!

Can you not accept this? Pointless polls simply drive away members, there's a reason that most fora don't have 'a poll a day'

No need to apologise, I know you're trying to 'keep the forum alive' but I personally feel these polls aren't the way forward. The Laird wrote:Hi,
