Re: Tool kit, advise please
I would have to agree with you kiter. My C4 is possibly the most frustrating watch I own to fit a bracelet on. Comes off easily enough, but the alignment of the end links and spring bars makes fitting the bracelet an exercise in patience nad frustration. Maybe someone will weigh in with some tips for this particular case.

I too find the C4 to be a bit of a challenge at times. A slight bowing of the spring bar usually does the trick. You can't bend it to much or it won't slip through the end link.

The misses brought me a cheap ebay kit one year and I've used it to fix over 20 watches by now. A case back clamp is a must and over time just upgrade everything as you go along if you feel the need (screwdrivers etc) - your skills will be more developed so you won't ruin your tools.
I miss all the great things that may never be.

Don't buy cheap tools. Get ones that you think are a bit better than you need.

It would be absolutely grand if someone (ahem Mr. Kip?) would post a few vids of how to do some of the basics. That might give me the confidence to give it a try. I am sure there are plenty of vids out there but it would be good to see some on the CW watches we know and love. Just thinking out loud.

Third that!
The only issue I have is time itself. No matter how many watches I own, I cannot seem to stretch the day.
It is a grand idea and several videos are on the "to do" list. They just keep getting pushed farther down. Keep the faith....one of these days....

I suggest a genuine sledge hammer. The rubber ones just bounce the watch around . . .Kip wrote:......or a bigger hammer.downer wrote:the most important tool in your box is............ patience.
Use some tape on the lugs and caseback to help prevent scratches if you slip.

There have been a couple of simple how to videos on the CWL web site for a while.

Go back up a level to get all the review videos.

And did you know they had a section on watch basics?
http://www.christopherward.co.uk/about_watches.html
And a list of watch words?
