Looks like Andrew might have jumped the gun. The Time and Tide link 404s for me.

I received an email from Time + Tide this afternoon with a link to Read the full article here - which goes through to WatchPro.

I believe this is for a 3 month pilot agreement that may be extended.

Apologies is that's what is stated on Instagram but I couldn't read that.

@Mikkei4 - That's pretty much what WatchPro said; 3months.
Just a note that the Brand pays to be in the "studio" and the studio also takes a cut from any sale of the brands products.

It's an interesting experiment both in terms of the studio and its use by CW. It gives CW a relatively inexpensive way to get Watches on Wrists (WoW) but if anyone is hoping to see more retail sites I hope you're good at holding your breath.

Thanks for that info as I did wonder what the financial aspects of this would be for CW and Time+Tide.

A good idea to cater for people closer to London West End than Maidehead.

Just a thought - if there is an after sales problem / fault with the watch who would deal with it? Directly back to CW as an on-line purchaser would do or back to T+T initially? Anybody know?

Pretty interesting idea! Will be great to be able to view some of the newer CW models in person without going out to Maidenhead. Will definitely have to pop in once they’ve got stock in

Good for CW, hope its a success. 3 months seem quite short though.

As an experiment over the Christmas period and post New Year doldrums it is probably long enough. Do they see enough interest or sales and is the cost of retail on a small scale worth it? If it brings a lot of new customers to the brand then it could well continue. If they and the studio are still there over the summer we will have our answer.

just browsing some of the images in the Watchpro article I see:
TAG Heuer, Fears, Mido, Norqain, Zodiac, Boldr, Studio Underd0g, Hamilton and Baltic. There's at least one more I can't read. I'm sure there's a full list somewhere. Might be a fun place to visit if you're in the area.

^^^^ @albionphoto

It's easier, Mark, to look up the list of Brands on the Time + Tide UK website

This seems closer to selling on consignment than a full fledged retail effort, which makes sense given the 3x pricing model CW uses. I suppose CW could treat the pay for space and small cut as a marketing expense of sorts.

I agree 100% with the comment I emphasized. I’m now business expert* but I would think a full retail prevented would require a serious rethink of their business model.

I believe Christopher Ward should be there in person on the 6th, 7th and 8th Dec as a continuation of the recent British Watchmakers weekend.
I assume with a similar number of watches.
