Thoughts on a new Aquitaine
Any thoughts on this?
I'd love to see this color way.

Re: Thoughts on a new Aquitaine
It's nice, and I'd welcome a split colour bezel.
However, I would really like to see an Aquitaine GMT without the faux vintage lume and colour scheme. Make the dial a crisp white, with white indices, hands and bezel numerals, and it would look very fresh and modern to my eyes.
Clearly, the date window at 3 in the mock-up is not feasible. It can be at 3, but it can't be that wide without changing the movement. Personally, I'd leave it at 6 for the symmetry.

Quite similar to my C65 Aquitaine GMT prototype (dual colour bezel) which CW decided not to launch and I was fortunate to purchase their prototype!!

You could go and buy one of the new Tudor BBs.

Re: Thoughts on a new Aquitaine
For a vintage look, I really like another mock-up done by a forum member here general-discussion/c65-aquitaine-herita ... 62159.html
I'm not a fan of faux lime or patina, preferring a natural aging or clean look when new.
The aquitaine in a slightly smaller size would be a winner for me and I'd much prefer it over the BB58 GMT, given the choice and funds.

I like the look of this “Coke” type bezel. It works well with the old radium numbers and markers. I find the “Pepsi” red and blue is a bit tired. This would be a strong contender if CW brought out something such as this.

Re: Thoughts on a new Aquitaine
Thinking about the 2-colour bezel…
Doesn’t the fact that it’s a 24-hour hand obviate the need for a day/night indicator on the bezel? I might be influenced here by my general dislike of external bezels, especially the broad and twisty variety. The fixed steel bezel on the C63 is unobtrusive enough to get away with it, and there’s no doubt where the GMT hand is pointing. QED.

Re: Thoughts on a new Aquitaine
I've just noticed the small lume filled circle on the tail end of the seconds hand, replacing the signature Trident. Not sure this is a good idea.
Also the main, lume filled circle towards the tip of the seconds hand, whilst a nice feature, seems oversized.

Re: Thoughts on a new Aquitaine
Not my favourite CW watch, but it actually looks pretty good. Like Barnstormer said, I would ditch the double lollipop second hand. I'd love to see the black fade to red and back on the bezel. Aside from those minor niggles, very nice.

Re: Thoughts on a new Aquitaine
Haha.
Guy, the main lume fills circle on the seconds hand hasn't been changed. That's exactly how it is on the Aquitaine already. I purposely changed the smaller lollipop rather than the trident seconds tail because I wanted it to be more retro/different than what's already offered.
With regard to the date window, following up on the comment about it, I agree that it's a little bigger than I'd intended (but not greatly). I purposely placed it at the 3 o'clock to give it a more retro look (and frankly to be more like the original Rolex GMT). I honestly don't like the minute size of the date wheel on the CW models, which do have it at the 3 o'clock. They seem out of scale and loose their utility because of the size. Just my opinion, but I respect other's perspectives on it too.

Re: Thoughts on a new Aquitaine
Would be interesting if they managed to place a 24 hour chapter ring allowing 3 timezones to be tracked. I also wouldn't say no to a solid steel engraved caseback instead of the exhibition one. Smaller size would be a nice option as well.

Also I think a FF style seconds hand might look good too, but maybe too on the nose?

Re: Thoughts on a new Aquitaine
@goodbarista You can already track a 3rd Time Zone using the external bezel.
