This must be incredibly rare and therefore priceless beyond my dreams

Post by tikkathree »

Grabbed a watch to wear whilst washing a car with my non-watch wearing hand.

Never before had I noticed that the 11 hour mark is different to its partners.....

Perhaps the special 11 is really meant as a subtle 1:1, but only for the astute? :p

There seem to be lots of *Rare* watches selling on eBay- perhaps it’s not as uncommon as you think?

Well, it's the only one I've got    . I had a quick archive search and it's not a standard feature. I can't bring myself to imagine that quality control wasn't sharp back then.

My initial footsteps into CW land was a resounding disappointment, with a duff movement fresh out the box.
CW have without doubt some beautiful designed watches which someday I will hopefully own.
But until they get a grips on the quality issues that they clearly have, it's a no starter for me.
Cmon CW you need to sort this out.
Since returning my watch I have bought several other brands not a single fault with any of them.

I’m trying to understand how this relates to the OP???

My guess is that Flef is unaware that I've posted photos of a watch from 2008 which runs just fine, which was bought by me pre-owned off t'internet with goodness only knows what kind of history. Because the 11 marker is straight and is correctly shaped if it's a repair it's been done with some skill.

I would take this in the same way that you apparently have Pete. A watch that has served you well, and has a quirky feature which in no way affects its function, but does add a little caché.

We should all celebrate imperfections a little.

That's right 'cos actually none of us are free from imperfections, even little ones.

^^^^ If you search the Gallery, Reference Gallery and CW of the Day for 'T3', Pete, you'll find photos of several perfect versions and one, that could be your watch, from about ten years ago with the shortened index at 11.

I have a CW in my collection which has a glaring error. Hasten to add, not a fault. I’ve never disclosed what it is because I did not want to embarrass CW or the designer. CW did make changes and offered me an exchange which I declined. I’m very happy to own a beautiful but not so perfect watch. Enjoy your watch too.

Speaking of rare, I found this incredibly rare Rolex Submariner on eBay for a great price. The seller told this was one of only 5 with this highly unusual misprint of the dial - Rolex was accidentally misprinted as Seiko! I mean, what are the odds of that?!

The seller was a Nigerian Prince, so you know it was on the up and up.

Well Guy, it's true to say that at the time of my two earlier photos I really hadn't seen the unique feature.
