@5oclockhero With respect, I think you might be reading a little too much into this. I see the range of colours in the 36mm range as pretty neutral from a gender point of view. For the 40mm range, it leans more towards traditional colours, which could be interpreted as leaning more towards males. But the 40mm range still has a pastel blue ("glacier blue"), a bright teal ("mineral blue") and a fairly bold purple ("nebula purple"), all of which are not traditionally masculine colours.

I'm sure these aren't the last of the colours to be launched for the various Twelve models, so maybe your preferences will be served in the future.
Squalus wrote: Sat Jan 27, 2024 6:42 pm Another example are the differences for dial gradients between the 40mm and 36mm Ti models; just saying.
I've previously spoken to Will Brackfield (CW Designer) about this, before launch. The more severe gradient on the 40mm Ti model is to help reduce the apparent size of the dial, i.e. make it wear a little smaller. On the 36mm Ti this isn't needed so much as the dial is smaller to start with, hence the gradient is less severe, i.e. not tapering away to near-black. It's nothing to do with gender. Hope that helps.

Well its entirely possible that I am, and I'd hate to sound like one of those that complains; why don't they make this watch in that size and this colour, just for me, which I probably do!
The insight into the gradient dials and size is interesting if a little perplexing. If at the design stage they were seeking to use colour to reduce the perceived dial size, why not make the watch 38 or 39mm to begin with I wonder?
Its a shame however that whilst I love the design, and the effort that has gone into the quality, I think the watch is more suited to the 36mm size, but I seem to prefer the colours (with or without gradient) of the 40mm models in general.

Of course, as we all know, patience is key when desiring a particular CW model, so I'll just have to sit tight for a while.

CW could have saved all these discussions by…

Only producing the Twelve in one case size, with all dial colours and a choice of SS or Ti.

Now where are those 38mm cased C12 models…

I ended up having to buy a 36 SS and a 40 Ti, to get to my preferred case size for this style of watch. 😀😀

CW may well be wondering that themselves, I don't know.

The way I look at it, there are currently effectively three sizes of Twelve in terms of how large they wear on the wrist:

Smaller: 36mm (steel and Ti, although the Ti could be argued to wear a tad smaller than the steel)
Middle: 40mm Ti (with fumé dial)
Larger: 40mm Steel (with no fumé dial, so wears larger)

Personally, I'm glad of the taper on my 40mm Ti model, as I think it would wear a little too large for me without it, i.e. like the steel 40mm model.

At least, ‘twould probably put a stop to all the mithering.

That is interesting with a fume dial. It makes sense. I guess I will wait and see what comes up. I was really hoping the concept was a version of the 12. I would buy that in a heart beat.

The latest Loupe does mention that the lighter gradient in the new Twelve36 Ti is a deliberate choice, but did not give their reasons.

Looks like my guess at the reason was correct.

Hey, CW, stop messing about with 'pastel' dials and 'fume' dials and just give us a sensible, plain BLACK dial. or even a sensible, plain dark blue dial, or even a sensible, plain white dial, or even a sensible, plain dark grey dial.
You get the idea? It's not rocket science.

@hadon2525
You sound awfully like me! To be fair, I do love the Twelve Ti in the Astral blue. But otherwise I’m a bit conservative about dials: black or blue with white hands; white or silver with dark hands and no lume.

Still, it’s good that the options are there for those who want them.

I love the new colors in the 36 titanium version, expecially the purple and the Lagoon blue and the Cosmic Purple.
I am sure the twelwe will always be a bestseller in CW range so there will be some more colors in the future.

16.5cm both 36 and 40 fit nicely. I probably prefer 36mm only because I want something slightly dressier. Here’s a shot of 40mm thou to give you an idea.

Is it just me? I feel like all the colourway look a bit darker on their website, much lighter in real life. I feel a bit underwhelmed by the amount of white on the Lagoon blue and the words actually clashed with the white. Still looking for the perfect twelve for myself...
