@5oclockhero With respect, I think you might be reading a little too much into this. I see the range of colours in the 36mm range as pretty neutral from a gender point of view. For the 40mm range, it leans more towards traditional colours, which could be interpreted as leaning more towards males. But the 40mm range still has a pastel blue ("glacier blue"), a bright teal ("mineral blue") and a fairly bold purple ("nebula purple"), all of which are not traditionally masculine colours.

I'm sure these aren't the last of the colours to be launched for the various Twelve models, so maybe your preferences will be served in the future.

I've previously spoken to Will Brackfield (CW Designer) about this, before launch. The more severe gradient on the 40mm Ti model is to help reduce the apparent size of the dial, i.e. make it wear a little smaller. On the 36mm Ti this isn't needed so much as the dial is smaller to start with, hence the gradient is less severe, i.e. not tapering away to near-black. It's nothing to do with gender. The way I look at it, there are currently effectively three sizes of Twelve in terms of how large they wear on the wrist:

Smaller: 36mm (steel and Ti, although the Ti could be argued to wear a tad smaller than the steel)
Middle: 40mm Ti (with fumé dial)
Larger: 40mm Steel (with no fumé dial, so wears larger)

Personally, I'm glad of the taper on my 40mm Ti model, as I think it would wear a little too large for me without it, i.e. like the steel 40mm model.
