Little Mayan pyramids of wonder
Brilliant!
I think CW need to patent this name for the dial texturing. “Chichén Itzá” dial.
Which will probably become known as “It’s a chicken”
I described it to Mike and Declan as the Aztec Pyramid dial. In some lights it can also look like a honeycomb dial. It seems that they are collecting adjectives to describe the dial. IMO the texture works better on darker dials but I'm weird.
I agree about the darker dials. Of the startup colours, the purple would be my favourite,, as it appears to tone down the texture effect.

excuse my ignorance here, put watch into basket then it asks for another £270 for a braclet?
Remember to use the change strap option if you're looking at one on a rubber strap then select the bracelet. That should change the price without asking you for extra for the bracelet.

Close but no cigar for me. Challenges the watch industry? Hardly. It is nice enough but it's not exactly novel since it's by nature paying homage to a specific iconic design and numerous other variants.
Personally, I think it's gone a step too blingy with the dial. The essence of the watch, the case and bracelet combination, is obscured by the disco-ball effect of the dial. Imagine this watch with a black lacquer dial (other colors optional). That would make for an interesting take on the overall concept and I think it would really let the design shine through. I'll wait....

I agree. Especially since the top surface of the ziggurat is finished in a different way. It suits darker colours better. At least for me.

I suggested a gloss black or musuo black dial with smaller indices to Mike. Small round indices, no date and a perfect black dial and I'd have paid him for it on the spot.

Now you're talking. I didn't mention the indices. They're too big.

While you're changing everything, can you please, please change the name!?!?
Oh, and the hands...
And the logo....

I like the hands and the logo. I just want to see them floating above the dial not fighting with it.

I have never really understood the fascination with Genta designs and they have never been my thing. That being said, I think CW did a very good job on these and although I won't be getting one I hope that everything they learned from this one filters into other designs.
I also think it is an exciting development that this is the first SW300 in the lineup (the TI versions are getting the SW300 to keep them thin). During the preview MF said that there will be more SW300s to come as well as new Selitta offerings that he said look very promising. The future looks good I would say!

Which prompts a question from a position of every day being a learning day: who does make a butterfly clasp with micro-adjust?
My JLC does, it has a small extension on each side which allow about 2.5mm each. Not my photos but here are some I found via Google image search showing it extended and not extended, note the small steps either side of the clasp where it hinges in.

The 2022 nautilus also does.

I didn't realize how much this watch looked like the Czapek until I googled it. Wow, yeah it appears CW got a little "inspiration" from this watch LOL
I wonder if one of the designers of the Antarctique and the head of design for CW are very well acquainted…
