Yes, and no.

All the watches I have sold have gone to fund another watch. There are ones I’ve bought again, sometimes a different colour, or a GMT version of the non GMT watch. Only my white Bremont S300 has been an identical purchase to one I sold

However even with these watches I enjoyed the watch that replaced it more than the one I sold.

The only exception was my IWC spitfire chronograph but that had a recurring fault so I was offered a full refund. It’s the one I think I miss the most but don’t regret letting it go as I was sure I was in for a world of pain and expense if I had kept it.

^^^^ very tricky to produce; white and orange ceramic.

Probably why CW stopped with these one-off prototypes.

There are watches that I regret buying and watches that I regret not buying but I can't think of a single watch I've sold that I regret selling. I now use a simple test to see if I should sell a watch. I put that watch aside for a year. If I don't miss it or don't decide to wear it within that period I reckon that I can sell it without regrets. I've used this test for a few years now and it hasn't failed me. Only one watch has survived and gone back in rotation. All the others have been let go without any regrets. Hmmm, looks like my Bel Canto is on shaky ground...

Note - I do use a spreadsheet to keep track of watch rotation so this is a bit easier for me than it might be for the less obsessed.

Paul, you seem to have forgotten that Neil belongs to the species otherwise known as “The Rolex Fans”

I once watched a Sir David Attenborough documentary on this and learned that the ability to retain and recall six digit numbers is essential to the survival of the species.

In fact it’s such a matter of life and death to “the Rolex fan”, that the part of their brain dedicated to performing this function has evolved to be nearly twice the size of that part of the brain in the average human.

Therefore you showing a photo of a watch and Neil replying with “28/07/15” comes as no surprise to those of us in the know……

@iain Harsh, but fair! :lol:

On this occasion I certainly remembered the month and year, as it was the month that I packed in work. A quick look back at my phone calendar for the specific date.

Brilliant. Did he cover the bizarre migration rituals of Rolex fans as they make frequent pilgrimages to meet the greater-crowned ADs, full of energy as they enter the queen’s nest, circle aimlessly inside for 15 minutes, conduct their discussion ritual for five minutes and then leave empty-handed?

Of the CWs I still hanker for, that's an easy question to answer. While the case design of more recent models has undoubtedly moved forwards I think this colourway applied to the C60 600 and C65 Limited Editions was always one of the best.

I know that strictly speaking that's two watches I regret selling, but the look and feel is so similar they blur into one.

Agree on no regrets when I’ve sold a watch-I’ve sold mainly as they were not getting the wrist time. But… I still think about two motorsport watches from the C70/C7 range. Think these were my 5th & 6th watches owned. Looked great and enjoyed wearing but as the collection expanded they got less and less wear. The other factor was the aluminium bezels that scratched easily and I became warier of wearing and adding to the scratches I’d already picked up.
C70 British Racing Green LE and C7 Rapide Chronograph COSC. Both bought from CW in the middle of the last decade. Loved the lug design and blue barrel on the C7. Both sold a couple of years ago.
Archive pics only I’m afraid.
