To me, this looks like a very bubbly, rounded upper surface to the bezel insert, something like the Bakelite (?) variants of a few decades ago.
Now, I am assuming that CW have not gone backwards several decades in their material choices, so, looking at what other manufacturers have done here, I am assuming it will be a rounded, clear, sapphire crystal layer on top of a coloured under layer? If so, how about this for a thought….
That’s exactly what I’m hoping it is! As for the rest about custom colors, I suppose you can dream!

So how about the CW "Quinoa" watch line? "Kwin oah"? "Keen wah"? I'm always interested to hear North American pronunciation of English language words with French roots: I respect "fill ay" over "fill it" but when I secure my sailing vessel afloat I'm never looking for a "boo iy".
C60 MKI, MKII, MKIII: "some",
C6 & C60 Kingfishers,
C600 Tritechs,
C63 "some",
C65 "some",
C4, C40, C8, C9, C3, C5, C20 & 23FLE
Some other brands

I'm just wondering...has this thread gone slightly off topic? I feel like I'm listening to a Rosetta Stone language lesson.

I am coming at this with absolutely zero concrete knowledge on what CW is doing and how these things are actually made. However, looking around at 50 or so bezels made from sapphire, it looks like the majority are printed on the underside. Some of them look like they were etched on the underside and then filled with some sort of material.

This thread has many examples to look at.

The Lorier Hyperion has the old Bakelite look.

Image

The original Bakelite watches were just printed on the underside of the material.

Sometimes it looks like the Bakelite was also etched and filled with lume. Like this Fifty Fathoms.

Image

If it is the Fifty Fathoms look they are going for it will probably be etched and lume filled.

Corton?
Nope.
You've got me then. It could be anything. There's a National Trust place near Alcester called Coughton Court, and I'm sure that's pronounced Corton Court. (as in Cort'n Court). Maybe your's is pronounced Ko-t'n.

With respect to Uttoxeter, there's an urban myth that it's pronounced Utchitter by locals.

This is the same place. Coughton Court near Alcester. It's definitely pronounced Co-tun (or similar). I have family named in the chapel there. But, despite my wife's wishes, I am not a Throckmorton.

Just shows how errors worm their way in. I will definitely remember the correct pronunciation from now on! :D
