So how about the CW "Quinoa" watch line? "Kwin oah"? "Keen wah"? I'm always interested to hear North American pronunciation of English language words with French roots: I respect "fill ay" over "fill it" but when I secure my sailing vessel afloat I'm never looking for a "boo iy".

I am coming at this with absolutely zero concrete knowledge on what CW is doing and how these things are actually made. However, looking around at 50 or so bezels made from sapphire, it looks like the majority are printed on the underside. Some of them look like they were etched on the underside and then filled with some sort of material.

This thread has many examples to look at.

The Lorier Hyperion has the old Bakelite look.



The original Bakelite watches were just printed on the underside of the material.



Sometimes it looks like the Bakelite was also etched and filled with lume. Like this Fifty Fathoms.



If it is the Fifty Fathoms look they are going for it will probably be etched and lume filled.

You've got me then. It could be anything. There's a National Trust place near Alcester called Coughton Court, and I'm sure that's pronounced Corton Court. (as in Cort'n Court). Maybe your's is pronounced Ko-t'n.

With respect to Uttoxeter, there's an urban myth that it's pronounced Utchitter by locals.

Just shows how errors worm their way in. I will definitely remember the correct pronunciation from now on!
