The clock is ticking...

When (not if) you are caught, just say
"Don't hit me, I have skinny wrists! If you break them the plaster cast will mean a C900 and a Jumping Hand will fit and that will be V expensive"

I'm going with the view that she knows and is biding her time, waiting to see how long it takes before you crack, dissolve into a blubbering wreck and confess all.

I agree with Steve; she knows. They always know....!

About October normally, so I might be ok for a while yet.Bahnstormer_vRS wrote:When does your wife usually do the cleaning?
I honestly don't think she's noticed yet, because I don't think she would be able to resist making an immediate comment!
I like the silver lining that if she breaks my wrists then they might become large enough for the C900. Good thinking!

Re: The clock is ticking...
You poor deluded man. Your wife noticed the moment the new case arrived. She's playing the long game: you are about to be hit for a very expensive purchase for her or a trip that she has been going on about but you have resisted. This could take months to unwind: but it will. In the game of cat and mouse you are being toyed with before the coup de grace.
Re: The clock is ticking...
This is going to cost!
She has noticed and waiting for the most expensive dresses, shoes etc to arrive to max out on your credit card.
Us guys just have to confess, recently purchased the C7 BRG Ltd Edition and the following week the C60 Trident with the orange bezel and strap, but was not man enough to keep quiet had to confess, now paying for house redecoration, new curtains, wallpaper etc,a pearl ring has just arrived in the post, would this had happened had I kept quiet I don't think so.
All you have left is go the whole way and place orders for all the watches you want,it is not going to make any difference to the final outcome!
Good luck

You should be fine until the warmer weather. The thick pipe smoke should reduce visibility somewhat, once the warm weather arrives she will throw open the windows to let some fresh air in and you will be rumbled!

Re: The clock is ticking...
All you guys are making me afraid to go home tonight!
However, I have just booked us into a posh hotel for a 4 night break next week without the kids, so that may get me out of jail. Maybe?
Failing that I shall try the approach of "New watch box? What do you mean? I've always had two of them, you silly sausage. You knew that from when we discussed it last year. Have you forgotten?"
What could go wrong? Actually you've all already answered that!

Re: The clock is ticking...
You will know from my earlier posts that it is impossible to keep these things from the better half. You are delaying it at best. Don't be fooled - she knows, or she soon will. I have just pointed out to Mrs lloyd_m that I have sold 3 watches this week, and the selling price of these has more than covered my latest purchase (incoming).
'How much is that new watch?'
'£440 with an extra strap'
'I thought that you were looking at a £2000 watch'
'I am. That's for later in the year'.
Silence - is that a green light for my Omega?
In any case, get your defence ready.

Yes.
Sounds like your conditioning/expectation management program is going well. Keep up the good work.

Leave her there and come home alone, swap the double bed for a single and there'll be more room for watch boxes.welshlad wrote:However, I have just booked us into a posh hotel for a 4 night break next week without the kids, so that may get me out of jail. Maybe?
Personally I'd ask if she likes the new watch box, tell her that you've two more on order, and suggest you forego the hotel break and spend the money on some watch-tools instead. You should be able to bargain down from there.

If she finds both boxes, tell her she has a nasty squint and needs new glasses!
